You’re right, it’s personal preference. The high point of my sports fandom these past 11 years have been those four tournament wins in 14,15, 17, and 18 (and that oh-so-close championship game in 19). Those were great times for my personal entertainment as a fan.

Yeah, well I just don’t care much about the whole. I care about being personally entertained by my team… the Gophers. It is harder, for me at least, to feel entertained when my team seems helplessly underpowered as compared to their competition. I did not feel that way in the old Big Ten.

And the Gophers have just been pushed further down the softball power rankings in the Big Ten. As a softball fanatic, I could always hope that my team could make a run and at least win one tournament, the Big Ten tournament. Now I’ll be dead before that happens again. Actually, my kids will...

Taryn Kern transfers to Stanford… someone once responded to one of my Softball board posts by writing that it was impossible (yes, impossible) to transfer to Stanford.

I wonder if she already received her degree? A UNC degree is a good one to have. Maybe she just wants to play one more year of softball and UNC didn’t have space for her and she can take her degree and go to someplace where she can play?

As of June 16th, still only one Gopher in the transfer portal as displayed on D1Softball. We mentioned this before on this board, but it sure doesn’t look like a large out-transfer year for our team. We may therefore already know all the names on our 2024 squad right now.

Let’s hope she can contribute in the circle in Clearwater next February (2024)… because that long weekend could be brutal if we don’t get good pitching.
