I have followed college softball long enough (10 years now) to see that SEC teams generally win in late May while most other conferences’ teams (excepting Oklahoma and a couple elite PAC 12 teams) lose in late May. It’s just a fact… check the archived brackets.

Players could still easily transfer if their coach left. And the portal created an ease of transferring just one year later, which Lindaman was one if the first to use the portal. But again, players transferred all the time prior to the 2018 transfer portal, especially if their coach left.

We have a college softball level ace; a really good ace who makes it so tough for hitters to get their bats on the ball. But, so very obviously, when Pease isn’t pitching we are not nearly as tough to beat. Pitching matters!

Tori Kniesche is who I am hoping for… if any out-transfers create any roster space. We will have a high number of potential pitchers on the roster (5) even without an in-transfer.

It just snowed! As a conference, the Big Ten has never been comparable to the softball power conferences. There is nothing new here. Each year however, there is a chance to have a Big Ten team sneak into the super regionals or even the Women’s college World Series.
