    Is AKs play a concern?

I should probably add (for 100% accuracy). If you only count yesterday's game, Darius' top 1-in-3 rushes were actually 7 yards or more. I added in his single carry of 3 yards against Nebraska, which moved that stat down by one yard. For those interested: He carried the ball 33 times. So his...

    Is AKs play a concern?

Thanks. I'm not an offensive coordinator. That said, here's how I think about things. Ibrahim's rushing stats were this: -Mode: 2 -Median: 4 -1-in-3 carries: 6+ yards So, in any given random grouping of 3 plays (leading up to fourth down), you'd expect the mode (because it comes up most...

    Is AKs play a concern?

I don't think that's the issue. Right now, I think they are trying to assemble the pieces into a machine and figure out how the machine works. From a passing perspective, I think they are trying to figure out philosophically what they want their passing attack to do. Is it a surrogate for...

Out of curiosity, is anyone aware of whether the Gophers have heard from the NCAA concerning his waiver?

    ESPN Big Ten Predictions

When I think about Fickell, I regard him as a high-end, successful coach who: (1) has won; (2) knows why he has won; and (3) knows how to recreate the conditions that generate victories. Guys like that know that their "system" generates wins. And -- while they'll never say it out loud --...

Dan O’Brien: Our QB coach @caseyob14 had clean scans today. 9 months cancer free!!!

9 months, and on the way to 9 years! Praise God. And then Praise Him more.

Would you be happy if we finished at 7-5 this year?

In 2018, I was thrilled, because I could see what was coming together and ABSOLUTELY knew what was going to happen in 2019 -- in fact I was telling everyone I knew. So, I really don't care what the record is this year. I care about seeing the signs that tell me all of the pieces are forming a...

Minnesota Golden Gophers in the NFL - 2023 Season

I'm 51, and a father of two boys. This one hits me in an atrium and a ventricle. This is why we fight, and this is why we die -- there can be nothing of greater value. This is the Pearl of Great Price.

Do MN really suck that bad?

Prestige of undergrad matters very little to law school. (But it matters -- indirectly -- a great deal for business school.). For law school, a top GPA and LSAT will open doors, if the remainder of the application is done well.

Do MN really suck that bad?

Como - I haven't heard from you... but it has been said that it isn't true that Howard could be a back door. Please look at the attached. This is the interview schedule for Williams, Connolly -- the best DC litigation firm. They interview at the T14, plus Vandy and Texas (near great law...

Do MN really suck that bad?

Como, I've not run across you before, to my knowledge. So I don't have a sense as to your age, etc., and where you might be coming from. As for upward mobility based on experience: generally, no. I can describe the situations that tend to lead to exceptions to that general rule, but the fact...

Do MN really suck that bad?

To elaborate, may I ask whomever may be interested to look at the attached? It shows the recruiting behavior of the top corporate firm in America. And, lo and behold, it recruits only from the top 14 law schools (knuckles, above, mentioned the T14 -- that's the reference). It visits the top...

Do MN really suck that bad?

PMW - I was not the one who asked me where I went to school. Nor did I ask anyone to ask me. I understand normal human drive to understand evasiveness, so I revealed a little -- so all of you could have a basis for grasping why I'm apprehensive. I have no idea: perhaps you've also published...

Do MN really suck that bad?

I don't think prestige is necessarily the most important thing. In fact, I think you've summed things up about right. Prestige is not our mission, and therefore we are not prestigious. Mainly, this doesn't matter, but depending on a student's ambitions, it can absolutely matter.

Do MN really suck that bad?

I think you're probably right. I think there's a disconnect between whether UMN is a prestigious place to be a professor versus whether it's a a prestigious place to be a student. From a student's perspective, the problem is that it does not field a top-ten law school or business school or...

Do MN really suck that bad?

I have no idea who that is. So, no. ...I would be surprised if any of you also know of my other identity, but I guess there's always a chance. (I will say this, though: as a result of the various series, I have had a phone call result that connected me with someone many of you would...

Do MN really suck that bad?

To be a little less opaque: elsewhere, I publish various series on topics that are somewhat controversial. The readership is small but regular -- about 10-20k regular readers. I don't know how this identity could be connected to that identity, but I'd rather not take unnecessary "risks."...
