I'm worried PJ will become a thrill seeking degenerate play calling gambler now

That's an understatement. If I'm going to criticize PJ for making decisions I disagree with when they don't work out, seems only fair that I not second guess decisions that do work out.

Where does the USC win rank in the Gophers' P.J. Fleck era?

Ill never forget that 2018 game. I can understand Penn State being number 1 because that was a home game so I saw it in person, but 2018 is easily the most fun I've had watching a gopher road game on TV. My group drove to campus for the impromptu pep rally meeting the team at the practice field.

Quarterback sneak. One thing I don't understand

If Jason Kelce were our center, the ball would have broken the plane before he even snapped the ball.

Quarterback sneak. One thing I don't understand

Decades ago they put chips in the Fox Tracer hockey pucks that were being slapped around at 100 mph, so I would think it could work and I like the idea.

    KC and AK

Kind of like when Seattle signed Blair Walsh. They saw first hand the kind of carnage he could cause when he missed the shorty in the playoffs that ended our season (though worth pointing out that our offense didn't put the ball in the end zone once, so Walsh literally scored all of our points...

I'm worried PJ will become a thrill seeking degenerate play calling gambler now

I often think PJ is too risk averse, but I said to my group before the play that I thought we should kick it. 3 was closer to a sure thing than 6. If we had kicked it, and then USC got to field goal range in less than a minute with no timeouts, I'd have blamed the defense and/kickoff team for...

    "Simulating brandishing a weapon" penalty

Like Kevin Costner coaching Nuke how to give interviews in Bull Durham.

    Buckyville

I liked the year they lost to Arizona State, and then spent the whole season pretending they had won.

Quarterback sneak. One thing I don't understand

+1 Kind of like when we used to run the Green Line wildcat, and would leave the starting QB in. The defense had to leave in the personnel to defend our base offense.

So do we love PJ again?

Absolutely. Punting obviously makes sense in many fourth down situations, and I can accept that there can be little enough time you'd rather kneel out the clock than chuck up a hail mary. My thoughts relate more to 2-3 minutes at the end if the half. In that situation, I would rather a team...

So do we love PJ again?

If we have the ball, shouldn't us scoring be the primary goal?

Good Vibes Thread: List your positives from the win and your thoughts about the team moving forward into UCLA + the bye week.

Huge win that we needed in the worst possible way. Did a good job fighting with a good team for 60 minutes, and came out on top. Before the fourth and goal play, I was saying I'd take the field goal. Kudos to PJ for making the right call and getting 7.

The Athletic: Ranking Big Ten basketball programs: Tournament teams abound, but is anyone elite? (16. Minnesota)

I'm surprised I didn't get a call. If age is the secret to success, I could have raised our teams average age considerably.

Comparable 4 Back for Season 4: TJ Otzelberger yet to lose to a non-Power 5/6 opponent

You're right, those factors hold us back and make it impossible to match the level of success of the rich historic blue bloods like *checks notes* Iowa State.

How would you try and beat USC?

The last several years of being a Gopher football fan have provided us with direct evidence that it is possible for touchdown+ underdogs to win football games.

Sources: Big Ten, SEC to talk possible scheduling partnership

I always wanted 16 with an auto bid for every FBS (not just major) conference champs. Would eliminate any possibility of an undefeated team not being a national champ, and I think a home game against the weakest mid-major champ is a fair prize for finishing the regular season number 1 overall...

Big Ten to modify officiating on onside kicks.

On the subject of reviews, one thing that bugs me is the standard of review. If they are going to review every score and turnover anyways, why do they have the indisputable evidence standard? Shouldn't the deference go to the best call based on multiple angles and slow motion, instead of the...

P.J. Fleck 'will not accept losing,' calls moral victories 'rat poison'

For all the times I've griped about what he says at press conferences, the "no moral victories" comment is 100% spot on.

When will PJ stick up for his team?

The real trick to winning the press conferences is winning the game.
