Rough one today. A pair of 2 run home runs in 4th and Illinois cruises to the victory. Too many walks issued. Their hitting and pitching were better than ours in this one.

Second half of conference schedule is definitely a challenge. Really feels like this weekend is a must-win series. Would love to see them have meaningful games down the stretch and not be buried in the standings.

5-2 loss to Creighton today. Gophers didn't reach base until the 7th, where they got their only 3 hits on the day to score twice. Novotny started strong but a rough 6th inning did him in.

Perhaps fortunes for the team are turning. I have seen runners called out on appeals for missing bases, but I can't recall ever seeing a someone called out for not touching home plate on a dinger. Anyway, good day at the plate all around, a quality start from Sheppard, and 3 scoreless innings...
