Westfall: Get Over It Golden Gophers – PJ Fleck is the Best Minnesota Can Get

I don’t have to get over anything. Westdink can take his condescending opinion and stick it. I’ve always liked Fleck and have never felt like we have had to settle. Fleck is good for MN

STrib: Donors to Gophers face a decision: Give to the school or to the athletes?

The article and many people assume the two options have to be mutually exclusive. They are not. I went to the UofM paid my tuition and some of my tax dollars go to the university so I’ve not been compelled to give to the U - just my choice. However I give to several organizations that are...

Rutgers has named Athan Kaliakmanis the starting QB. Rutgers QB Gavin Wimsatt, who started 18 games the last two years announces he's transferring

So an upgrade for them. I hope it works out for him. Sometimes a change can be positive. Always like to see a person overcome challenges, the underdog in me.

Kill on Fleck: Coach has done a good job. There’s no doubt about that. MN has won. My personal feelings—one way or another—coach has done a good job.

Tough for sports writers when their plate is empty, the pressure to just write something sucks. I’m sure he’d be thrilled to write about something else with more value than opinion of somebody that garners little interest from Gopher fans

    Gophers have ELEVEN 4-star players!

No matter how you cut it this is a positive. One sure indicator that Fleck is improving Gopher football prospects for success, no guarantee but as the above post indicate it improves the likelihood of increased success. With NLI a team’s potential can change overnight, I’m ready for some Gopher...

    Emanuel Karmo Commits to Gophers!!!!!

Fantastic! Choosing to join the Gophers and the best conference in college football - nice job PJ. PJ is helping more players reach the NFL and it helping recruiting. Elevates the Tri-metro conference and other great players.

CBS: Questions for each Big Ten team in spring (MN: Can Corey Hetherman continue what Joe Rossi started?)

Defense will look different, Highly unlikely defense performs at the same level. If it was easy everyone would be above average ;-)

    Football Scoop: Realignment Ranking #25

So a college with a pro football team in town makes the college football in that town less attractive to a national audience, ESPN or Fox? Of the 50 variables in the study I’d guess a pro sports team in town was not one of the 50 or at least well down the list.

    Football Scoop: Realignment Ranking #25

For the 16th largest MSA being ranked 25th behind several schools on that list is an indictment of past football and Uof M leadership failures.

Board is frustrating to post on because of constant refreshes.

Anyone else having an issue posting to a threat in the 60 second refresh window? Wasn’t always like that.

The Deion Sanders effect: Colorado sees record number of applications, including 50% spike from Black students

20% increase in applications - this is something the in denial academics at the UofM can never admit to - vibrant sports at the university lifts all boats.

U regents approve Fleck’s updated contract after extended discussion

Even academics are capable of this backward thinking, self pity, and illogical understanding of supply n demand.

Saban: the way players acted after Michigan loss contributed to retirement

Some coaches can’t (or don’t have to) adjust to the changing college landscape. It just is what it is, no reason to further lament the inevitable. Let’s see where it goes and hopefully there will be still something to enjoy.

    Out of Country

Would like to see the Gophers go overseas and play a rugby team. That would be fun and exciting and be media buzz worthy.
