I understand what you're trying to say but I'd argue in the US more kids go out for soccer that don't see a future in football. If our US soccer national teams lack of success is indicative of anything, it's that our top athletes aren't going out for soccer.

Not trying to be rude, but of course there's zero soccer players on this list since it is played in the fall and so is football. I feel like all of the sports you listed below are the ones that cost the most money and require the most travel amongst athletes which can make it harder to play...
