Did this warrant an ejection?? Gard sure thinks so....

Just my opinion, but I have a hard time taking the protestations of a coach who supports Brad Davison's on-court behavior seriously. Sorry Greg, you get what you get in this case.

What grade do you give the team this season?

    B. Only because of how poor the overall talent was going into the season. This was a roster that had no business playing in the Big 10 and they made the most of what they had imo. But another showing like this season will warrant an F grade in the future.

Shama: What uw has achieved in basketball during the last 20-plus years is remarkable; what U coaches and administrators have done is embarrassing

You're right. What was I thinking? I mean, we've been awful for so long now, why not just wing it and hope like all heck it just magically gets better. Or maybe hopefully gets better possibly someday, but we really don't know. Or even really care, so any warm body that applies is a legit...

Shama: What uw has achieved in basketball during the last 20-plus years is remarkable; what U coaches and administrators have done is embarrassing

It's not so much one hire or another. But this AD (and this program going back to Teague) has now established a pattern of taking total fliers on coaches with little or no qualifications for the job. It sends an awful message, especially when the department continues to try and brand itself as...

Shama: What uw has achieved in basketball during the last 20-plus years is remarkable; what U coaches and administrators have done is embarrassing

Yep. And speaking strictly for myself, I'm done listening to Coyle's gibberish about building championship level basketball programs at the U. The last three hoops hires between men and women had a grand total of one year of head coaching experience when they were hired. Programs looking to...

    Ben Johnson and this team

The bottom line here is that this team was probably always going to finish dead last. The roster was thin, both in terms of talent and depth. And we have a head coach who is literally training on the job while a lot of his players, quite frankly, aren't power five material. It's pretty...

Official Brad Davison is a Tool Thread

Kid's a punk. Always has been, always will be. Just don't tell Badger fans. All of their players are angels in their eyes.

Lindsay Whalen receives one year contract extension

Agreed. But that's what Coyle and Whalen have to cling to at this point. That, and next year's recruiting class. I'll be honest, I'm not sure what Coyle is doing in regards to basketball. No way Lindsay gets an extension if her last name isn't Whalen. But Coyle signed up the program for on the...

    Sconiers Enters Transfer Portal

Agreed. Playing time should be adundant almost immediately considering how this roster has performed. At this point, next year's recruits are Whalen's saving grace. For her sake, I'm hoping they can perform.

    Gophers Host Badgers (2-25-22 & 2-26-22)

I've been very hard on the Gopher men's hockey team on this forum. But tonight, I want to thoroughly applaud them for waxing Bucky so thoroughly this weekend. Anytime you stick it to your rivals, it's a good thing. And they certainly did that this weekend. Also, congrats on winning the Big 10...

    Gopher Softball 2022

Agree. This is where losing Dueck hurts. But they're going to need somebody to step in during those moments. Can't be just Pease and Leavitt all year.

    Gopher Softball 2022

I should have specified a bit more; left her in too long to keep the 6-3 lead. And, yes, Leavitt did give up the bomb to end it. But the momentum was with GC throughout the game. It felt like Ritter was hoping Pease could hold on for dear life for the most part, especially late. When you lose...

    #1 2022-23 recruit commits to the U

That is also fair. I'm only speaking from recent experience. Hope springs eternal.

    #1 2022-23 recruit commits to the U

If all that talent actually leads to some level of consistent, on-ice performance, I'm all for these "great" recruits. But I've gotten to the point of "prove it" when it comes to hyping anything regarding Gopher men's hockey. All the rest of this is just noise.

    Gopher Softball 2022

She didn't have it. Couldn't find the plate, got behind hitters all day, gave back a three-run lead late and Ritter wouldn't make a move to replace her until it was too late. Not a good performance.

Gophers hand Nebraska first B1G win of season 78-65

If a 2-9 conference record was enough to make these kids cocky going into last night, delusions of grandeur are very much alive within the program.

***OFFICIAL PURDUE AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Now that we're into the "moral victory" portion of the schedule, I guess we can hang our hats on trying hard and never giving up. At least that's something moving forward.
