***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN BATTLE FOR THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I would have punted. Our kicker has to be the most over-rated kicker in my Gopher Fandom.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN BATTLE FOR THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

#45 Lindenburgh is not a good linebacker. No concept of fill and replace. It was his job to fill the gap and he just sat there like a rock in the middle not even moving.

Isn’t the offensive line the biggest issue?

I alluded to the same thing in my first post in this thread. We lack the foot speed to be running a zone blocking scheme where your blocking an area and have to be quicker to stay on a block, pull or get to a linebacker. Tight ends are not effective at chipping or setting up double teams. Really...

    Be honest!!!

Bielema is a darn good football coach. Would he ever coach at Minnesota, I doubt it. Only place he is leaving ILL for I think is to coach in the Pros or Iowa.

    B1G Match 1: Gophers Host Wisconsin (9-25-24)

They will need Wucher back, she makes the squad deeper. Hope her back heels soon.

It appears an undefeated college football team ranked in the top 30 of the AP Poll just lost its starting quarterback ... because of an NIL dispute.

This is starting to look more like pro sports than college. Why even have the enrollment rules and scholarships and call them student athletes if all it is going to be is Salary's and pay disputes. This guy basically quit after 4 games.

PJ Fleck has one area he wants to neutralize this weekend playing Michigan football

100% quietest, 110,000 person crowd I have ever witnessed, and I was there for the wins in 2005 and 2014 2 of the 25 total wins. Been there for 3 losses too. They have a really good Irish pub in downtown Ann Arbor. That one handed catch, by Max Williams, is one of the absolute best plays I have...

Isn’t the offensive line the biggest issue?

Agreed about TE play in the run game on blocking. Not very effective off motion or split out wide. This is why I kind of like putting Lecaptain back at RB(FB) if you put him at the tight end or H back spot at least he would likely hit somebody and block. He is athletic enough to catch a pass in...

Fleck again takes the blame but cites major problem with missed tackles

Safety came up like he was gonna hit the guy then just stopped in his tracks. GAVE #2 time to reverse away and get the angle. By that time there wasn't anyone in position to make a play. We seem like we had a couple defenders run into each other on that play. We stopped being the aggressor and...

    Anyone See Another Win?

Yes, 8 games left leave an opportunity to win some games. Cannot predict the outcomes yet. Played one bad half against Iowa. Don't think Brosmer played that bad. Defense needs to make the plays that are there to be made. Your never as bad as you think unless your on a consistent losing streak...

Which Defensive position group is more to blame for Iowa collapse?

I wouldn't play Lindenburgh #45 right now. That big brace, he isn't healthy and it's not like you can tackle well with one arm. Need more linebacker depth, staying in the correct gaps.

Isn’t the offensive line the biggest issue?

Like to see a 6 man OL elephant look with the two backs, one less tight end used. Establish the run early, Some wildcat no huddle, high tempo with Taylor and Major or Nubin even. We will not do that. We don't practice those sets even this year.

    Perich at safety

He is faster than Jack Henderson I can tell you that. I would rather have Henderson playing in #45 spot at LB than at FS or SS. #45 has a huge brace on his arm, so that tells you he has an elbow injury or tricep type injury. We missed Gousby #7 on Saturday. I like Perich getting in the rotations...

    Brosmer is not a stud.

You know the phantom false starts were BS when the group of referees is huddling about the call and asking each other if they saw anything. Max never moved his head or feet, simulating a snap. He is allowed to turn and use hand signals along with his voice. Clearly Iowa was offside both times...

What grade would you give the Gophers coaching in the loss to Iowa?

Iowa won the coin flip and deferred. We took the ball, they chose direction.

Which Defensive position group is more to blame for Iowa collapse?

Defensive tackles. They were getting pushed 2 to 3 yards up the field and did not take on blocks effectively in second half. Lowest man with extra leg drive is needed. They Iowa OL were getting under Minnesota's pads and driving them off the line and standing them up. Hard to make plays like that.

PJ Fleck: 'Don't Give Up on this Team'

Honestly even with what was working in first half, I thought Gophers were gonna come out and do what Iowa did in second half ball control, hog the clock and try to put them in a vice. It was good strategy and gave Iowa D time to recover. We were lucky to be in lead in first half with the...
