    A huge concern

Our offensive line has performed better this year in high-tempo mode, because it stops the deeply talented teams from rotating in different DL for situational play. Keeps the same DL on the field. They get tired. The best run stoppers don't have time to be rotated out for the best pass rush DL...

    Week 5 Other Games Thread

Rutgers beats Washington. Rutgers has 299 yards of offense (AK throws for 115). Washington has 521 yards of offense. Didn’t see game. How the heck did Washington lose?

I am not a conspiracy theory guy but..,

Bottom line: if the Gophers are going to beat OSU or Michigan, they have to win clearly. Razor thin goes to the ranked team. We made too many mistakes early. Upside: we learned again that Brosmer and our receivers can play if you let them (and OL holds their blocks for 4 seconds).

We have to build on second half as foundation for rest of season

Let Brosmer be Brosmer. Play up tempo not turtle. F@ck the crappy, mincing scripts we start the game with. Open our first drive in the USC game as if we are down by 21 and it is the 4th Q. Play offense with urgency and tempo. Brosmer thrives in that environment. If PJ wants to play Tressel ball...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN BATTLE FOR THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Alternative is to see a sack, at least in this game …

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN BATTLE FOR THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Brosmer ain’t a savior. But he’s looking just fine when he gets a couple of seconds. Our OL is just not good. MI rushing only 4 and breaking through with ease. That means 7 lbs and dbs to cover 3 or 4 receivers for 3 seconds max. Not Brosmer’s fault. False starts by center ain’t Brosmer’s fault.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN BATTLE FOR THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Our D has allowed 107 yards of total offense. Problem is that we keep giving Michigan the ball 15 yards from its endzone.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN BATTLE FOR THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Irony: Gophers enter halftime with 130 yards of offense (a lot on last play). Michigan has 107 yards of total offense. Field position is a huge problem, as are turnovers. Michigan DL is astounding. Crushing our OL without any blitzes. Makes passing a lot tougher. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Anyone See Another Win?

We need to win the first three you’ve listed to get to five. AK, with Rutgers dominant running game, could have a field day against us. PJ can’t beat Big Bert when we have a talent advantage. It’s been worse in years such as this one, when Bert looks to have the talent advantage. (Bert’s beaten...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN BATTLE FOR THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

If we are still in the Michigan game at halftime, how about we come out ready from the get-go to play a tough and creative 2nd half. It’s not just rah-rah stuff; it’s about a game plan and adjustments. PJ’s slow, plodding first quarter offensive starts are a thing of legend, but generally not...

Lots of negativity on this board for a team that should be 3-1

NW game 2nd half implosion last year will be inflection point for me. Downhill since.

    Be honest!!!

Bielema recruits at about the same ranking as PJ. He has better game prep and in game coaching. I like PJ, but it is frustrating to see him regularly outcoached in games in which nominal talent is essentially equal. Since Ciarocca left our offense doesn’t seem to put defenses in stressful...

    Where Are We Headed

What is the Gophers' current identity as a team? There are identities you forge, and identities that are forced upon you. I know the Gophs are trying to forge a positive identity for the team, and the players are trying hard. You can tell. But the identity being forced upon the Gophers is that...

STrib: P.J. Fleck’s Gophers slumping vs. major conference opponents

When it comes time for a new HC--could be years given the financial strangle-hold that PJ's agent has negotiated for himself--I seriously hope that the University Regents temper the AD's tendency to undermine the University's flexibility. Screw the huge buyout clauses. If we hire a stupendously...

Major Shift: Gophers 8.5 Point Underdogs to Mich After Opening 12.5 (Wisconsin 16 pt Underdogs to USC After Opening 14)

I understand the stats, but the season is young and 50% of ours come from playing Rhode Island and Nevada. Moreover, MN has lately fallen into a habit of being severely out-coached after quality opponents make halftime adjustments. Don't get me wrong--I'd love to see a close, meaningful game...

Major Shift: Gophers 8.5 Point Underdogs to Mich After Opening 12.5 (Wisconsin 16 pt Underdogs to USC After Opening 14)

Iowa beat us 24-0 in the 2nd half. And it wasn’t a fluke. Just regular offense. How can the line be this low? … unless there is a surprise, like a key Mich RB injured and out. Michigan likely will have a hard time passing on us. But it should run all over us.
