    Those are the breaks.

This feels a lot like the Purdue game. Should’ve won except for some dumb mistakes.

SOUND OFF! Post-Game Thread: Gophers Lose Heartbreaker to Hawkeyes, Again, Fleck Remains Winless vs Iowa.

We haven’t beaten a team with a winning record this season. And PJ is winless against one of our two primary rivals. PJ’s seat should be heating up now.

***OFFICIAL IOWA AT MINNESOTA BATTLE FOR FLOYD OF ROSEDALE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

You can come back from 10-0 against Nebraska. Not happening against Iowa.

Say something nice about Iowa (2022 Edition)

The state’s northern border isn’t bad.

PJ Fleck to Gophers: Pay no attention to Northwestern’s 1-8 record

Playing Northwestern is like playing a service academy. Are they objectively good? Not usually. Are they gritty and going to make things difficult? Very likely. I don’t think I’ll ever overlook a team, let alone a B1G team, after Bowling Green.

    2022 Minnesota Bowl Projection Tracker

Charlotte is nice, though a little sterile and not super exciting. But NC is beautiful. Easy day trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains if the weather is decent.

    2022 Minnesota Bowl Projection Tracker

Pinstripe vs Duke would suck. Cold weather baseball stadium game against a non-football school. I’d selfishly like the Mayo Bowl vs Wake since I’m an alum of both schools. Can’t lose! Or can’t win…not sure which.

    All Things 2022 CFB Playoffs

This is my guess too. Don’t think TN stays in top 4 this week after getting blown out. I’m just hoping we avoid yet another multiple SEC-team playoff. There should not be one conference taking up half the spots when there are more “power” conferences than there are spots. And if you can’t win...

Our 5 remaining games are all very winnable

This thread title inspired me to try some optimism, so here we go: -We seem to always have one fluky loss each year to a team that isn’t that good or is downright bad. Purdue seems to have been that game—awful dropped TD pass turned pick, missed kick (kicks?), other things not going our way, MO...

SOUND OFF: Post Game Thread: Gophers Crushed in 2nd Half Loss at Penn St

The only remaining game I feel confident about is Northwestern. This is the most Minnesota of Minnesota seasons. Don’t think I’d ever been higher on the Gophers than after the Michigan State blow out. The wheels have fallen off. Only realistic way to even partially salvage this season is to...

Chip: I said it last year and will say it again: Gophers basketball is in really good hands with Ben Johnson.

I’m on record here as someone who saw Ben as an AA-type hire given the other highly qualified options who were supposedly interested, the local media push to increase diversity in UMN leadership/coaching, and Ben’s relative lack of experience. BUT, I also said that I hoped I was wrong and that...

Gophers among favorites to land 4-star 2023 center Dennis Evans

As a huge Spurs fan I lost it when he said his style inspiration is Tim Duncan, and his quiet personality and game seems to match him too. Love this kid already. Welcome to Minnesota!

Gophers among favorites to land 4-star 2023 center Dennis Evans

What a selfish kid—waiting until school is over? Doesn’t he know a bunch of middle-aged message board posters are refreshing every 5 minutes?!

    Realistic season predictions:

@Penn State - L Rutgers - W @Nebraska - Toss up Northwestern - W Iowa - Toss up @Wisconsin - Toss up So worse case is 6-6, best case 9-3. But My prediction is we beat one of Iowa/Wisconsin and lose at Nebraska, putting us at 7-5.

Post Game Thread: Gophers lose to Illinois

Today showed we just aren’t very good. We can beat bad teams but just don’t have the depth or talent to beat good teams. This is a 7-5 type season, give or take a win.

Coaches reportedly unhappy Minneapolis is hosting Big Ten media days

Richard was not a great coach here but I still can’t help but like him.

Fanbases that feel worse than us...

Thank you. We should feel better than the vast majority of programs right now. We lost a disappointing game to a conference opponent—so what? That describes almost every team every year not named Bama, UGA, Clemson, or Ohio State. We can still have a great season.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Suffer Disappointing Homecoming Loss to Purdue

Now that I’m more emotionally stable… We played without our best player. We had some fluky, awfully timed mistakes (the end zone pick, the missed FG, a couple dropped would be picks). Purdue is probably better than advertised (especially their D), plus Spoilermaker game. We didn’t lose by...

Ann Arbor, Champaign, and South Bend have worst college football writers in America (along with 14 other dinks)

Boggles my mind that 17 AP voters don’t find the Gophers to be among the top 25 teams given how thoroughly dominating we’ve been so far. Especially coming off of a 9-win season. If that doesn’t prove some anti-Minnesota bias in the media—whether intentional or not—I’m not sure what does.

    Our Stadium

Our stadium is great. I particularly love the exterior—the classic brick bowl design with some glass/modern features. I’ve only seen games at two other B1G stadiums: Maryland and Nebraska. Maryland’s stadium was nothing special. I like Memorial Stadium at Nebraska, but part of that may be the...
