All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

SON, while I understand the premise of your post, I'm going to dispute your take on that 2009 game. There was not a common belief that we would "roll over" the Saints, in their own stadium. The Saints had the better regular season record, and were 3.5 point favorites in that game. The reason...

    2024 Gopher Hockey Offseason

Well good luck Rhett, earlier end to his season should give him more time to work on signing a pro contract next spring I suppose.

Would Minnesota’s offense get shut out by Minnesota’s defense?

Well the defense would give our offense good field position if our offense was bad enough.... this line of thinking might have me going in circles.

    Kirk Ferentz Press Conference

There's a lot of things that PJ says and does that are common among coaches but somehow people think are unique to him. I don't get it.

Fleck doesn't think last year's fair catch fiasco adds any juice to Iowa showdown

You seem to be really hung up on this whole momentum issue, despite the fact that there's no evidence of the concept of "momentum" in football games. And even if it is a real thing I'm not sure what the benefit would be of having the players and coaches buy into this idea.

In this specific situation I agree it was dumb to go for it on 4th and 4 on a short field. But the reason you think there’s a “massive epidemic” of teams going for it on 4th down is because for the longest time coaches were way too quick to punt or kick field goals in situations where they...

Breaking: Iowa Favored by 2.5 Points Over Gophers at Minnesota ** UPDATE ** Iowa By 3 Now **

My two greatest concerns against the Pigs: 1. Our OL has looked weak, even against lesser competition. Will we give DT room to run against another strong Iowa defense? 2. Will the tackling issues we saw against UNC rear its ugly head against Kaleb Johnson, who looks like one of the strongest...

    Fantasy Sports Talk

Those are the same three I have narrowed down to. If I had to pick right now I’ll keep fading Carolina but admittedly I haven’t looked into the future schedules of the raiders or Cleveland. May want to save the Raiders for when they face Denver.

Wallner thus far has amassed more career WAR in about 130 fewer games. I like Larnach's bat and wouldn't mind a scenario where both can be kept on the roster, but Wallner has generally better numbers and based on my amateur eye test seems to have more upside due to his incredible raw power.

Which Team do you hate more Iowa or Wisconsin?

Ah, I see you're one of those guys who thinks someone is a lesser fan if they are not an alum. Academic elitism is not cool FYI.

Which Team do you hate more Iowa or Wisconsin?

Similar, just slightly worse/more vulgar IMO. I do agree badger hockey fans are not nearly as bad as their football fans.

Which Team do you hate more Iowa or Wisconsin?

Also I know this isn’t the question being asked and not everyone here is a hockey fan, but North Dakota hockey fans are worse than either of these two.

P.A. is kind of a dweeb but at least his play by play can be exciting. His analysis is generally terrible when he gets into that. Bercich is just awful all around IMO.

Slight edge to Wisconsin but plenty of room in my heart for hatred of both.

This was not from a verified reputable source, but I read somewhere in the depths of the internet that if he quits/retires, he isn't entitled to all of his signing bonus, whereas getting released allowed him to get paid. Again don't quote me on that and I'm happy to be proven wrong. Not...

The most reasonable theory I've heard, apart from the obvious gambling allegations, is he may have realized he doesn't want to pursue a big league career, so he does this, gets released, collects around $300k and can go move on with his life. Who knows though. Just really weird all around.

I'm sure I'm in the minority on this one but ever since the Red Sox finally won a world series, and then went on to win a couple more, I find them just about as insufferable as the Yankees.
