    Week 5 Other Games Thread

Interesting. I have heard through non-inside sources that there was a big division last year (and maybe this year) between guys who wanted Jim Leonhard to get the job and “Fickell’s guys”. Whether that’s true or not I have no idea but it makes sense.

Is it time to admit PJ (and staff) can coach?

PJ won 13 games with a lower tier MAC team and had 3 9+ win seasons in a 4 year stretch here, of course he can coach. Odd time to be making this statement though.

MN v MI Post Game Thread: Gophers Ball Out in 2nd Half

Proud of the fight of course, but man it’s hard not to look at what could have been. Blocked punt Jackson fumble Missed field goal Couple of third and longs we couldn’t get off the field and Michigan scored. Certainly nice to see the contrast in second half effort from Iowa, but dug ourselves...

    AK

Yeah I have no hard feelings towards Athan but it’s not like he was done wrong here. He was given the chance to be a starting QB in the big ten and he played terribly. He made the decision to transfer and that’s totally fine. I don’t really root for or against him, he’s just another transfer in...

    Gopher QB

There are at least 8 more games left in the season. The only reason to start Lindsey is if he's better than Brosmer and gives us a better chance to win. I don't know why I'm even replying to this thread but whatever.

USC DL Bear Alexander plans to redshirt the remainder of the season and enter the transfer portal

It's kind of like with college classes where there's a deadline to drop the class and not have it impact your GPA lol.

USC DL Bear Alexander plans to redshirt the remainder of the season and enter the transfer portal

Isn't that kind of what's good about it though? Players make the choices and can deal with the consequences. If coaches don't think he's worth signing then that is the price he will pay.

It appears an undefeated college football team ranked in the top 30 of the AP Poll just lost its starting quarterback ... because of an NIL dispute.

My thoughts on this and some of the commentary in this thread: 1. Yes I believe players should have a right to be paid what the market dictates for their talent. And this story doesn't change my feelings on that one bit. 2. I don't like what this kid did, I think there's a big chance he...

Gotcha. I'm with you. By all accounts Fields seems like a good kid, it's a shame his play seemed to divide a lot of fans in a weird way.

Yeah I get what you're saying. The guy was a really efficient passer at OSU and was a first round pick for a reason. By all means he could find himself in Pittsburgh, and the things you're saying are not unreasonable. I just don't know that I would point to these first three games and say "see...

I like you SON, but I think you’re the one seeing mirages. I have yet to come across anyone who legitimately thinks this team is headed to the Super Bowl.

Meh- I’ll give him credit he’s doing enough to not blow games with that elite defense, but completing a high percentage of short passes isn’t anything overly impressive.

All things Players Coming and Going.

I'm not buying the MSU hype to this extent either. My unbiased take would have us at 4 behind BC, DU, BU, in that order. 7 feels a little high for Michigan as well but we'll see.

    Twins/Vikings/Wild/Wolves Championship appearance drought tracker

There are 3 times in my sports fandom where I have thought "ok this is finally going to happen" and had it fly back in my face. The first is after game 1 in 2002 against the Angels The second is Tanner Morgan and Rashod Bateman hitting that 50 yard TD early against Wisconsin. And the third is...

We also gave up a 109-yard TD to Antonio Cromartie of the Chargers in 2007 on a missed field goal before the half, and came back to win that one. Then-rookie RB Adrian Peterson ran for 296 yards, a single game NFL record.

    Fantasy Sports Talk

I'm trying to remember a time in recent years where in one single week it felt like there were 3 solid options (Raiders, Bucs, Browns) this early in the season that all lost in the same week. Having one of those lose is to be expected, but all 3? Wow
