    KC and AK

Just turned on the Wisconsin/Rutgers game and saw Kaliakmanis throw a rocket into coverage that the first Wisconsin guy was in the position to intercept, but the second Wisconsin guy was there for the deflection. There is a such a thing as trusting your arm too much and that applies to Kaliakmanis.

    USC = the new Nebraska?

I have similar thoughts. USC has always had extremely talented skill players brimming with athletic ability. I'm old, but I remember that in addition to great skill players, USC always seemed to have a great OLs (especially during the McKay and Robinson eras) that were always knocking people...

    How's Koi doing?

I'm somewhat familiar with the various Iron Range-area ethnicities and I think it would be -ich similarly to the pronunciaton of former Minnesota Governor Rudy Perpich's name. I don't know if there is a difference between the Serbian and Croation dialects of the Serbo-Croat language, but that...

    How's Koi doing?

Perich is really some kind of athlete. I think what set Winfield, Jr., apart was his unbelievable feel for the game. Don't get me wrong, Winfield, Jr., is a very good athlete, but Perich looks like he's a level above him in that department. I see nothing but really good things ahead for Perich.

    Brevyn Spann-Ford

My impression as well. He came to the U as a possible match-up nightmare and the coaching staff seemed to want to turn him into an extra offensive tackle. He does look thinner and more mobile. Maybe that happened in his pre-draft training.

    Brevyn Spann-Ford

I think the offensive scheme also hurt him a bit. On his big play last night, he was in motion and ran a bit of a wheel route and was in the open. I don't recall the Gophers ever really isolating him in that way.

    Brevyn Spann-Ford

Couldn't find the "Gophers in the Pros" thread, but wanted to mention that I watched some of the Cowboys-Steelers tilt last night and Spann-Ford got some serious time on the field. He caught his first two passes as a pro. He looks to be in really great shape and more mobile than I remember him...

Wow these pics of Koi are amazing, great work GopherHole

He did play basketball. I seem to remember him playing against Asuma last year and it was covered by the local press. Anyway, Perich is the real deal on the football field.

College football ‘Super League’ details unveiled, would be called ‘College Student Football League’

Well said. My fear is that once the "student" portion of "student athlete" erodes college football will officially become minor league football. If the conferences move in this direction (and I firmly believe that they will) there's going to have to be a whole new set of rules and those rules...

Big Ten to modify officiating on onside kicks.

I am old and have seen a lot of terrible calls against a lot of different teams, but the Cuzzi call stands out as probably the worst. Simply jaw-dropping.

College football ‘Super League’ details unveiled, would be called ‘College Student Football League’

Curious to see how it plays out, but I don't think it's a clear non-starter. This is the end result of the NCAA resisting stipends to players in the first place. They chose not to get ahead of it and grossly misread the legal sentiments toward the players' work product. Once the NIL lawsuit...

How would you try and beat USC?

I would challenge USC to a game of Mattel Talking Football.

    The headline Sunday will read?...

Trojan Horses Outrun Gophers. I really don't want it to be that way, but the play on words was too much to resist.

Big Ten to modify officiating on onside kicks.

It should be judged on where the feet are and not where the head, torso, or arms are. To me, it's like the receiving rule in the NFL where both feet have to be on one side of the line to be legal. Nice to see the review at least upheld the Gophers' viewpoint.

    Brosmer

From what I have seen of Brosmer, he's a more consistent passer. Morgan would have games where he was insanely accurate, but then drop off for a couple of weeks.

    How many wins are left????

Tough call. We could give USC a game. They coasted in the first half against Wisconsin and made some bonehead plays. They still beat them by 17. It all depends on whether they play from the first whistle. It's a supremely talented team physically. I'm not a Rutgers believer although...

He’s college football’s most colorful kicker. He's 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds. He claims he could beat a cheetah in a fight. Meet Dragan Kesich

I think it's time to put the cheetah directly behind the center of the goal posts as an incentive for Kesich. Drill it straight through and you get to fight the cheetah at the end of the season.

I am not a conspiracy theory guy but..,

Michael Jordan resembled a running back as much as a basketball player once he reached Basketball Sainthood. What's a pivot foot? PS--I do want to see an explanation one way or the other from the B1G offices this week. I think they review officials on a game-by-game basis and then make...

    Brosmer

    In other words, the Morgan-esque.
