All Things 2023 Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

Well guess what... Anjay Lee had a Kansas offer too right? Let’s just see how it plays out. My opinion is he’s not that level of player and that’s no knock to the kid. But I’ll stand on that. If he goes higher congratulations to him.

I agree and not trying to minimize his talent or potential. I just don’t see him as a lead guard at a top ACC, SEC, Big 12 type school. Big Ten yes along with most PAC 10 schools. Unless he doesn’t wanna play locally I think the Gopher will have a good chance to get him.

It might grow but do you think better? Imo his offers are right on par with his his potential. He’s not a blue blood type player

Not trying to argue but first you say he’s a shaky ball handler now you’re impressed by his ball ball handling duties at PC? He flourished while the Sizzle was a mess? I know Watson struggled but I think as a whole all the shoe teams from MN struggled against National talent. Look at D1 last...

His role won’t be a PG for the U. PC needed him to handle the ball. But that also helped develop his overall game but he flourished with Sizzle as a wing.

    Braeden Carrington named Mr. Basketball

Not sure if you’ve watched MN HS basketball but Carrington as good as anyone in the class. Don’t trust National rankings

All Things Boys MSHSL State Tournament

It’s not true. McKenzie was not there his freshman year. We can fact check if needed. Tyler went to North because he had a relationship with the North football coaches. Heard the story many times… in saying that McKenzie has underachieved playing 1A and 2A

I agree. People that compare Carrington to Kalscheur is spot on except I believe Carrington will end up being a better shooter and ball handler.

Also shows how good PC was this year. Lost to TG once then can back and beat them by 30. Fun team to watch.

It’s true but no worries. But imo I do believe Tyler had more of an impact on North’s rebuild, in both football and basketball then either of there coaches. That was 8 years ago and there’s no way North should still be playing 2A basketball.

Dodd is way better then those D2 guys you mention. Through the board it looks like SDSU and Denver has shown significant interest. As players hit the portal and teams need to fill rosters, as long as there’s no eligibility issues, which we shouldn’t assume I can see him as a late D1 signee.

Unfortunately with the portal college coaches aren’t as quick to give out developmental scholarships. In 2 years, with good coaching I’m sure Dodd could develop into a solid player at that level. Now they can get a players who’s already proved themselves…. Speaking of that I don’t know how much...

    DJ Jefferson de-committs from Tulsa

Don’t think he’ll be a priority. PG and Big out if the portal first… after that I’m sure he’s looking for shooters.

Minneapolis North HS beat Ubah Medical HS 143-4 last night. North had 8 players in double figures. Ubah Medical had 2 players with 2 points each.

The 98-2 halftime score is more of an issue imo. No way starters only played 10 minutes. But even if they did scoring 100 points in a half needs to be manufactured.

What grade do you give Ben Johnson for his first year?

What grade do you give Thorson? Because when the Gophers were winning he sure was getting a lot of credit! I give Ben a strong B for coaching. Team were organized, played hard, and played smart. Made in-game adjustments. They were just outmatched which you can give him and his staff blame. My...
