QB Max Brosmer of New Hampshire commits to the Gophers

He's actually ranked 31st. Took On3 a little bit to give him a transfer ranking.

Would a 10-2 Gophers make the 12 team playoff next year?

I would say an 85% chance with the hypothetical you laid out. I think in your scenario it depends how good our wins are. If we go 10-2 but only beat 1 top 25 team in the process, I could see us getting left out. Other than that and as long as our starting QB doesn't get hurt we would make it.

    Gophers Football needs major help

Figured it would be next to impossible to try and count all the threads after a loss compared to a win, but I did go back and count the replies to the post game threads posted by the staff. Wins: Nebraska 148 Eastern Michigan 50 Louisiana 95 Iowa 72 Michigan St 149 Losses: North Carolina 211...

How would you fix NIL/Portal if you ran the NCAA

Always gonna be a loose thread in an idea written in a paragraph. But you could set a minimum reporting number, like anything under $500 (or whatever you want that number to be) doesn't have to be reported. The problem with NIL isn't random fans giving a player a couple bucks for an...

How would you fix NIL/Portal if you ran the NCAA

I don't think an approval process would be impossible, but you would have to hire a number of employees whos full time job would be approving businesses. If you don't want to go that route, you could establish very strict and clear rules on which businesses are allowed to hire players for NIL...

How would you fix NIL/Portal if you ran the NCAA

For NIL I would ban collectives and funds such as Dinkytown Athletics. I would make it so that only businesses approved by the NCAA can offer NIL deals for players and every NIL deal should be documented and be close to the actual value of the NIL. So for example, a national Wendy's ad is worth...

What Should the Gophers Strategy be for QB in the Transfer Portal?

This the ideal, but I wonder with NIL problems if we can realistically get quality at both.

What Should the Gophers Strategy be for QB in the Transfer Portal?

There are already a handful of notable names who have already entered the portal, including Will Rodgers, Will Howard, Tyler Van Dyke, and Max Johnson (UNC) to name a few. Even more will flood the portal once bowl season is over. So, the question is, what should the Gophers do? Do we try and get...

    Gutless Playcalling

Last one I remember is when we were playing Michigan in 2020 and it was a direct snap to Ko Kieft that went no where

My take on the Gopher football team today

At the time of saying that (2010ish-2020ish), both Wisconsin and Iowa were consistently top 20 teams that were considered contenders for the Big Ten. If we beat both of them it would mean that we had rose to those ranks as well. However, since then both Iowa and Wisconsin have declined. Because...

To win Big Ten West, Gophers need Iowa to lose twice

Last year was also pretty ugly lol. 7-5 Purdue snuck into the Big Ten Championship

Time to be honest with ourselves...

I would argue that without Fleck we’d be ranked even worse than 12th. Regardless, I also know that Fleck isn’t going anywhere for the next year, but the point of the post was that we have plateaued as a program and we won’t take the next step until we move on from Fleck.

I’ll admit I was totally wrong

I was there!!! I watched the entire painful game! But why does Tanner get the excuse of vanilla gameplan but Athan doesn’t?? At least Athan can beat MAC teams….

I’ll admit I was totally wrong

He had two chances to bring us down field and win us the game and he threw two horrible interceptions. Enough said.

Time to be honest with ourselves...

yeah, the buyout is a problem and realistically the U won’t be willing to pay it and pay for a quality coach. Next year is such a pivotal year for the program, we really need someone who can fully utilize the talent on this roster.

I’ll admit I was totally wrong

Then you look back on Tanner with rose colored glasses. He only had 59 yards against Bowling Green of all teams.

I’ll admit I was totally wrong

We dont beat Nebraska with Tanner, we dont beat Iowa with Tanner, we still lose today with Tanner. The only game we may have won with Tanner is Northwestern. I think you're forgetting just how bad Tanner had become by 2022.

Time to be honest with ourselves...

Fleck has taken us to another level. Our recruiting has dramatically improved and winning 9 games a season would have been a dream to us back in 2009. However, today was another example of how we have platued as a program. I am not saying that we are ever going to be a national championship...

AK's bullet on 3rd down to put the game away

I get your point of view. I just feel like it’s more coaching not coaching guys up and not putting them in positions to succeed than it is a deficiency at a certain position (only talking about offensive side of the ball here). It’s not just Athan either, Tanner severely regressed from 2019 and...
