    The reason we lost

I’ve seen plenty of college kickers miss 47 yard FGs, I’ve never seen worse play calling than our redzone offense and whatever you call what happened at the end of the game. We lost for a lot of reasons. To conclusively say it was the kicks or the line is just silly.

Explain the Gophers loss to UNC in 1 sentence

I hate it when Fleck calls plays to set up a FG but I learned last night that I really hate it when he calls plays to set up a more difficult FG.

Explain the Gophers loss to UNC in 1 sentence

Kaliakmanis was not good for Rutgers. He wasn't bad, but he had about 100 yards passing until they threw a long TD pass against an FCS school they were whooping with 3 minutes left. Note - for whatever reason, Rutgers also scored a TD as time expired. They felt the need to get to 44-7 rather...

Gophers men’s basketball coach Ben Johnson has high praise for freshman Isaac Asuma

We have a lot better wing depth this year, it might be tough but he’ll have a big role.

That’s a bad team. I would be less angry because wins matter. I don’t think PJ put our team in a great spot to win today and we lost - so I blame him for that. I also think if we played a better team, we’d have gotten throttled tonight. I could be wrong, I hope I eat crow, but to answer your...

Players are going to make mistakes, as a coach, you need to put your team in the best possible position to win. Fleck didn't do that today. He played for FGs every time we were in a position to score. HE's done it for years.

Officially out on PJ. In game coaching decisions are just over his head. I appreciate what he's done for the program but it's the same crap. I said it two hours ago, the guy's annoying habits are just not worth it anymore.

I'm not sure if a fumblerooski is the kind of play you run twice a game, but I guess we'll see.

    Dual thread QB

I honestly think it was because he didn't want a QB controversy.

That was a gimme to a player who can't throw the ball. Wow.

I think Fleck was trying to get the ball in the middle of the field. The dude is weird how much he plays for FGs.

That's even kind of on the offense - we literally played for a FG - which is one of the oddest things PJ has a weird habit of doing.

This is brutal. North Carolina is not a very good football team.

Did you want Redding to field that punt? I think that was just a good play by UNC.

They just showed the replay, no one was even remotely open. He still looked really unathletic scrambling, but there was nowhere to pass that ball.

Scoggins: The Gophers will be sunk in the expanded Big Ten without a better passing game

If he can only out pass the military academies when he has two NFL WRs, he either needs to adjust his offense or recruit better.

Conceptually, I hate a run heavy offense with a short passing game. IF you're run heavy, I think you should run a lot of deep passes to keep the safeties honest. It feels like defenses are really comfortable to play downhill against us on every single play and why not? Even if you have success...
