RandBall: Pessimism? Nah. Now the best Gophers teams can compete in College Football Playoff

Nope, just having a conversation. You have stronger opinions on this than I have. I think the expanded playoff puts more of a priority on the regular season and allows for teams to schedule marquee games without the fear of being knocked out of the playoffs by September and having to work your...

RandBall: Pessimism? Nah. Now the best Gophers teams can compete in College Football Playoff

If you don't want to watch a non-conference game between two top programs, that's on you. I do feel there is some importance to the game. Lets say in my scenario that Ohio State plays Georgia in week 1 and Michigan and Alabama go on to win the Big Ten and SEC. The Ohio State/Georgia game is...

RandBall: Pessimism? Nah. Now the best Gophers teams can compete in College Football Playoff

I am a fan of the proposed playoff setup - for the reason that it keeps priority on the regular season, especially the conference schedule. By guaranteeing conference champions a bye I think you allow for some slips earlier in the non-conference season. To us fans, this could be beneficial...

All Things EA College Football 25

I would be willing to bet the vast majority of players just loved being in the game and would have settled for a copy of the game. The $600 is a bonus. I would assume even if you are a marquee player there is no reason to opt out. You can grow your own personal fame through the people playing...

We need a statement tradition song!

When I think of music, I am a fan of... - Marilyn Manson's Killing Strangers before the game - This is how we roll (row) after halftime - Purple Lambo before kick offs - Random playing of Just a Friend, I love it, etc Take it or leave it on the Goldy... I think the 3rd/4th quarter break needs...

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

Thanks for confirming. I was almost positive I remember hearing it.

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

I seem to remember the Cannon during the first couple of seasons at TCF but my memory is fading by the day...

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

I remember that game - if I remember correctly it was on ESPN 2 and shortly after ESPN 2 first aired. Off topic, does anyone know what Tyrone Carter is up to? A few years ago he appeared to be going off the deep end - very outspoken about a variety of topics, got off social media, and vanished...

Court Hearing on whether NIL rules can be legally enforced

No need to do it, other people do it and lose their money so the NFL doesn't have to do it. Although, this is how I would do it: Following Free Agency and the Draft the rosters need to be roughly 100 players. No more OTAs and rookie mini camps. Each team has to put roughly 50 players into a...

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

100%. I feel like I sat in every area of the stadium at one point in my life for a random event. I knew the dome like the back of my hand.

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

I miss a few things. Take it or leave it, the dome sucked but it is my all-time favorite sports venue. It just felt like home. Things I miss is no random order: 1) Laurence Maroney 2) My seat location (about 15 rows up, dead center of the end zone) 3) I love the outdoor football aspect, but the...

Chip: Time for Williams Arena teardown? Not if we get more Gophers games like Tuesday's.

For the record, I can't remember the last ticket, besides my football season tickets, that I have bought through the U. My final straw was the Missouri/Minnesota football game in Orlando. I bought them online for about 1/5 the cost.

Jamison Transferred To OSU So That He Could Experience March Madness Oh! Oh!

True -but lets say it is 125k... that is a heck of a down payment on a first house.

Jamison Transferred To OSU So That He Could Experience March Madness Oh! Oh!

It's crazy to think about. $250,000 is a weird amount - it doesn't seem like life changing money, but at the same, time $250,000 is a lot of money. I couldn't imagine graduating college with $0 debt and $250k. Depending on where you live you could have a nice down payment or nearly pay for an...

Chip: Time for Williams Arena teardown? Not if we get more Gophers games like Tuesday's.

Best part of Chip's article was the part about the ticket prices. Any upper deck ticket should be $25 max and behind the baskets should be $10-$15. Get people in the arena. Build new generations of fans. I nostalgically think of Voshon Leonard, Townsend Orr, Arriel McDonald, etc like they are...

SEC and BIG Joint Advisory Group

My predicition for a while has been this... The Big Ten and SEC are going to continue to grow and become quite large. They will get so large that they will become many small conferences. Big Ten West will be USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, etc Big Ten Midwest will be Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota...

SEC and BIG Joint Advisory Group

No idea what this means, but I can only assume it is good for the SEC and Big Ten and bad for everyone else.

ESPN: Sources: Jim Harbaugh accepts head coaching job with Chargers

He has a slimy feel to him but he also has a track record of being wildly successful everywhere he has been.

Shooter: Minnesota, conceptually, has considered either renovating Williams Arena or building a new arena in the parking lots north of arena

US Bank is obviously a beautiful facility but I couldn't agree more. It is impossible to move around that stadium. There is no main concourse to my knowledge that walks around the entire stadium. You have to zig zag, go in different entrances to different zones, etc.
