***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN BATTLE FOR THE LITTLE BROWN JUG IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Well, we did a lot better than most thought we would do and the second half performance, particularly the 4th quarter, was inspiring. The defense had a fine game and Brosmer looked like the kind of QB we hoped he would be late in the game when the offense went at a quicker pace. Hopefully we...

Correction: second longest. Forgot about Kallerup's 44 yard catch.

Wow! They actually look like a decent team on this drive. It can't last.

Figures that our longest pass play of the day would be nullified by a Carroll hold.

They may be right but it's still aggravating that the OC is just giving up on offense.

4 sacks allowed and 1 yard per carry stat in the first half pretty much highlight the futility of the Gopher offense.

That's about the only thing at this point that could give some interest to this game.

Yes, UW also shot themselves in the foot with costly penalties. Rutgers definitely looked beatable. Athan looked improved but not by all that much. He did get pretty good protection from his line.

Johnson on walk-on Lincoln Meister: "He’s made guys better because he’s long, he’s crafty, he’s a better athlete than you think. He’s pretty skilled.”

Given his size and our lesser depth in the front court, I did wonder when he joined the team if he might be able to earn some minutes outside of garbage time. Sounds like he might.

Kadyn Betts: I love this University too much, I love the coaches too much. This is my home, truly, and I want to stay here no matter what.

6-8 points and 4-5 rebounds per game would be quite a lot given what we've seen so far. To put that in perspective, Parker Fox averaged 5.1 points and 2.9 rebounds last season while averaging 14 minutes per game. Reggie Lynch averaged 8.4 points and 6.1 rebounds in 23 minutes per game during...

Freshman guard Isaac Asuma draws comparison to Cam Christie

    A fast-track developmental player maybe?

Keep in mind, the Gophers went 9-4 as recently a 2022. They were 5-2 at home, 3-2 on the road and 1-0 in neutral site games (bowl win vs. Syracuse).

I'm not quite ready to claim that this season will be worse than last season. Iowa-Michigan-USC is a much tougher start to the Big Ten season than anything we've faced in a long time. For the time being, I still think we could be at least bowl eligible by the end of the season.

Isn’t the offensive line the biggest issue?

I think Major has been all right as a #2 back but I'd like to see them give Mangham a few more carries. He's had only 7 carries but has netted 43 yards.

Nick Saban quote on Florida football applies to Minnesota basketball too

Tubby was at least a middle-of-the pack coach for the most part during his tenure but it's going to be harder to do even that in the new league. Likely even harder in football. I agree with what a poster wrote in the football forum. We're going to get $20 million a year to be a fodder...

They're leading them by over 30 at the half. That's really depressing. We better win today.
