    Week 1 Other Games Thread

Cam Miller is a baller for NDSU but any kind of pressure and he gets wobbly. The CU D is complete garbage.

My JV team plays outside. I live in outstate MN - there aren't very many died in the wool fans. Sure, folks jump on the bandwagon.

The Very Big Question That The Big Ten Still Hasn't Answered For 2024

College FB post season has always been subjective rather than based on on field results. Pro sports post seasons are determined by onfield results. Although I'm an unabashed sentimentalist and traditionalist, given all the changes in the game, CFB would benefit from an NFL style playoff with...

    UNC Attendance

My office had season tickets at TCF split between four partners some years ago but gave them up. There was always interest in the tickets early season but waned as the season wore on. Two of my partners were U grads. The third and I are not. I was the only hunter in the group and would...

There's that and the fact that where FBS football is concerned, Eastern SD is Husker territory. I'm not sure ND has much of an allegiance to any FBS program.

Let's assume ANT has not hit his ceiling. I'd suggest that his growth as a player will be a bigger determining factor than these two guys.

The talking heads suggest that if it is a "clean up" time frame is 4-6 weeks before starting intensive rehab. But that route tends to have higher likelihood of issues later on (no one said how much later). A repair is apparently the best long term option but that would end his season. '25...

Illegal you say? I'm aghast that it would still happen. And some real teeth to those ramifications.

2024 MN High School Football thread

I am aware of high school coaching staffs strongly suggesting to their prospective players that if they aren't playing year round, their chance of making the team, let alone actually playing, will be very low. The most reliable source was a bigger school volleyball program more or less telling...

Have there been any rumblings about the smaller, less affluent schools bolting? St James and Windom come to mind. Hard to imagine St James ever being competitive with Marshall.

While not having any bearing on the HS football season, keen observers will notice that return of the "South Central Conference" this school year. The old South Central Conference was made up of schools like New Ulm, Fairmont, Waseca, Saint James, United South Central and a few I can't think of...

Oh, I'd assume that he would be catching rather than chucking at the next level. I wonder if he'll even finish his career at JCC as QB? At least last year, his backup QB was quite talented as well.

Roman Voss played part of last year at receiver and db with a broken hand. I saw him in person in his first game back at QB and the kid can really put it on a rope. His older brother was a backup.QB at SDSU until retiring due to recurring injuries.

College Football Scholarships move from 85 to 105 - What are the Major Impacts

So your understanding is that the roster limit is distinct from scholarship limit, except that no more scholarships can be awarded then roster limit? The result is that a school can find no scholarships, 105 full or partial scholarships or somewhere in between. But a school cannot take 105...

College Football Scholarships move from 85 to 105 - What are the Major Impacts

Agree. The guys taking scholarships at Toledo or NDSU over walk on offers at Wisc. are now going to be scholarship players at Wisconsin. FCS and G5 schools are going to have to recruit their top tier HS guys for the future. When it doesn't pan out at Iowa after a year or two, remember us in...

Your Favorite Quirks About College Football

Running QBs. The NFL has certainly had them (mostly uncanny scrambler like Tarkenton and Steve Young) and now has very mobile QBs now, but the NFL isn't pounding out yards by design with a tough guy QB.
