With Ihnen gone maybe he’ll improve but based on what we’ve seen if he is getting more than 5 a game we’re in trouble.

Doubt Betts gets more than 5 minutes a game next year. Only got a couple in a few non conference games this year in garbage time. Based on that I’m also guessing Grove gets the same next year as Betts this year.

Again, it depends on who Ben gets this year in the portal. Last year he did ok but two previous years not so much. Losing 4 starters after next season can be disastrous if he can’t replace with quality players.

Not a horrible roster to build on for next year. It’s the following year that may be the biggest drop off depending on who Ben gets for transfers.

Garcia had his better games when the rest of the team couldn’t hardly do anything. I certainly am not going to blame him for those losses because he was the only player that knew how to put the ball in the bucket while the others wanted to keep jacking up threes when they weren’t falling.

I was one of those critical of his limitations and development but still don’t think he isn’t irreplaceable. His space eating size, speed, and ability to defend will not be replaced easily. Big men that mobile are very hard to find. Losing him imo is an indictment of Ben.

Not even close. JOJ and Carrington were exactly the guys Ben was hired to recruit and develop. That’s a fail.

So is Ben bad at evaluating talent or bad at developing players? If he has that many players that couldn’t contribute at a high level it has to be one or the other or both.

Most portal players are looking for money. If we didn’t have it to keep the current players we sure don’t have it for good portal players. Taurus Samuals 2.0 here we come.

As tough as it is to lose a guy with potential I’d rather have it happen now than when he begins to actually realize that potential.

Noticed that Carrington’s minutes came at the expense of Christie and Hawkins. Just shouldn’t happen.
