What they got in return was the best they were going to do for someone to take on Towns contract, and I was surprised when that included DD. Thats a big win. And you keep saying Ant kills ball movement which is nonsense. Towns didn't kill ball movement? How many times did he have wild drives...

Pete Rose dead at age 83

Pete Rose deserves to be banned. He gambled on games he had some control on the outcomes of. The promotion of gambling on today's games would make that an even bigger offense, not justify it. All of the steroid guys should be in. Everyone was doing it at that time, that was just that phase of...

He probably won't opt out, which is fine. Either way Rudy is the cheaper, shorter term contract, which makes far more sense to keep. Especially when the Wolves had a better record without KAT than with him last season, and now they have DiVencenzo and Randle to replace him. Connelly is...

I agree with you on your first two points, but how are they any more thin at PF/C than last year with Randle replacing KAT?

Rudy can opt out of his contract after this season if he chooses, at most he has 2 years left. His contract was not the issue.

All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Twins Off-Season Thread

So it was ridiculous to think about trading him because of how good he was when healthy, yet his value wasn’t high? Players come back from ACLs all of the time in much harder sports on the body like football. That alone wouldn’t deter anyone from taking a chance on him.

So trading him when his value was sky high didn't seem like such a bad idea after all then???

Just getting out of KAT's insane contract makes this a huge win for the Wolves. They already have Naz who plays just as good if not better than KAT when he gets KAT like minutes. I'm a big fan of DiVencenzo which is a huge bonus on top. It's great to finally have someone competent is running...

    Be honest!!!

PJ is responsible for recruiting the players. And we are in the ballpark with the majority of the B1G to pay players, including Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, etc

It appears an undefeated college football team ranked in the top 30 of the AP Poll just lost its starting quarterback ... because of an NIL dispute.

Thamel said he did get the 3k for moving, and then UNLV offered him 3k per month for 4 months on top of it. But there's still an 88k difference between that and 100k.

Andy Katz names Garcia 4th best wing in the country

Depends on if you consider a stretch 4 a wing? I would.

I think Carolina got their answer on where the problem lies with their offense today, and it was definitely Bryce Young.

    PJ Isn't Going Anywhere

Basketball has shown that wouldn't be the case.
  15. GopherWeatherGuy

Maybe I'm wrong, but this is how you know Fleck needs to go

That only discusses what PJ were to pay if he leaves. If PJ is fired, the Gophers owe him 65% of his remaining contract including retention bonuses, which even after this season is 65% of just under 31 million through 2029.

    PJ Isn't Going Anywhere

The 2nd half of last night was awful. Every fan should be upset and I get why many are growing tired of PJ, myself included. But ultimately you can save all of your fire PJ, or who should we hire instead posts for at least another 2 years, because with his buyout, he isn't going anywhere.

    Half time adjustments (lack thereof)

Them being down 3 scores by the 4th quarter had nothing to do with the wind. Every coach with a 14-7 halftime lead is going to take the wind at their back for the 4th quarter.

    Half time adjustments (lack thereof)

'Halftime adjustments' are always completely overblown by fans, especially in the NFL. There is very little time to make actual adjustments at half time, and adjustments are constantly being made throughout the game. Iowa just lined up and kicked the shit out of the Gophers in the 2nd half...

    Half time adjustments (lack thereof)

You would rather have the Gophers have the wind in their face in the 4th quarter?
