    The Matchup With Iowa

Concerns that have not been raised 1. I want AK to start but have reservations, especially on a frigid day with unreliable receivers. Morgan delivers a softer ball that is more often in the body frame of his receivers. AK has the rocket arm but is less accurate. On this bitterly cold, windy day...

Game notes; No Cory Provus, but Matt Millen again

How many times will Millen say "really well done" this week?

The headline in the Sunday paper will read?...

Gophers Keep Husker Nation Stuck in the 90's.

Warmath and Fleck- Parallel Career Paths?

I loved the Sunday Peach with lots of Gopher game photos, especially those that trace the path of the football in a sequence on an important pass play.

Warmath and Fleck- Parallel Career Paths?

The 2021-2022 Gophers feel to me a lot like the 1956-1957 editions. Yes, I am THAT old. Warmath's 1956 squad went 6-1-2 and blew a Rose Bowl bid by losing to Iowa in a game Minnesota dominated statistically. The 1957 team returned lots of talent and it raced off to a 3-0 start and a #4 national...

Those 10 "Lost Points" vs. Purdue

Precisely- This false, linear approach is so common in baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey, etc.

Those 10 "Lost Points" vs. Purdue

A number of posters have suggested that if Trickett had made that short field goal and if Brown-Stephens had made that easy catch, then the Gophers would have been up 13-10 at the break. I don't think it works that way. If Trickett makes his kick, the next play is a Gopher kickoff and not a...

Gophers coach P.J. Fleck on early fourth-down decision: ‘I would do it again’..."it only cost us 3 points, it was worth it"

Sometimes I think Fleck is better at building a culture and a program than he is at in-game coaching. Still don't like leaving cornerstone players in the game while up 4-5 touchdowns as well as his tendency to let his blood get up in high risk-low reward situations..

Have your expectations for a successful season changed post Purdue game?

Yup. Thought coaches and players had outgrown this kind of performance. Silly me

Have your expectations for a successful season changed post Purdue game?

Thank you. When was the last time these repulsive rivals both looked so vulnerable in the same season? Gotta cash in on this oddity.

Have your expectations for a successful season changed post Purdue game?

Thank you. Our repulsive rivals both seem very mortal in the same season for the first time in ages.

    I have to learn....

Surely some other teams on the schedule can also jam up the running game and force Morgan and receivers to win the game? The blueprint is clear and there are teams ahead than can execute it.

Looked like it didn't come out of his hand cleanly but still embarrassing.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Suffer Disappointing Homecoming Loss to Purdue

The 2 and 3-yard runs we saw today through minimal holes are often 4or 5- yard gains with the more powerful Mo. Enough difference to sustain drives.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Suffer Disappointing Homecoming Loss to Purdue

Low reward, high risk. He did the same thing vs. Purdue here two years ago in a game the Gophers were lucky to win. Among Fleck's many strengths, I would not include resistance to impulsiveness.

Purdue football at Minnesota: 1st and 10 : Notes From The Indy Star

2001. That game was the first time I noticed how this kid named Marion Barber III finished his runs. On their last possession the Gophers were trying to kill the clock. Barber single-handedly picked up 3 first downs with angry runs. They could not get a 4th. "Crushing" is a good describer.

Tanner Morgan has never looked like this.

Yes, the one that Brown-Stevens high-pointed over the middle could easily have been a tipped-pass interception on a different day.
