***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NORTH CAROLINA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

AK not looking like a Big Ten QB thus far. Taylor at this point I'm just hoping doesn't go the Bucky Irving route, that kid is a stud.

All things Players Coming and Going.

According to the basketball board it's impossible to keep everyone happy, you need 6-7 kids who aren't good just to balance the roster 🤣

    Johnson with Barreiro

I think listening to him at this point is irrelevant honestly. If you don't like him (I dont) what he said was annoying. Talking about Heat Culture and when you know you have the right guy you keep him through good and bad. Get out of here with that, just win please. And if you're like RR you...

What will the Big Ten Tournament look like with 18 teams?

I actually like this idea. Plus I can see the conference liking that because those fans are now in town so they will pick up a few extra butts in seats on those days.

    Potential Lineups for this Season

I think kids who worry about if they start or not is one of the dumbest things ever. I know they do but who cares, you want to be a guy who starts and plays 8 minutes or do you just want to play 30 min and be in the game when it counts? I would guess the 5 listed is the starting group yes. And...

Marcus: Ihnen "could be cleared for full contact this summer"...Fox recovery "longer than expected...still optimistic he could be back next season."

Year 1: Thiam was a total miss. Thompson was a miss, I would put some some blame (not 100%) on CBJ as everyone else left but he kept TT. Year 2: Henley was a miss, he was awful and already gone. Cooper was a miss as well as Samuels. Few things to add. A "miss" isn't just the guys we have...

Marcus: Ihnen "could be cleared for full contact this summer"...Fox recovery "longer than expected...still optimistic he could be back next season."

No matter your thoughts on this or past seasons, I think everyone has to agree that the absolute worst thing CBJ has done is his roster management. Lacking positions of need, not filling scholarships, not having the tough conversations with guys, and total misses on guys. This was why I...

2023 College Basketball Transfer Portal Watch Thread

I'm willing to guess if he came he came here there would be a few singing his praises from the mountain tops. I'd guess he has the same potential to be good or bad as Hawkins/Mitchell who had better stats at way worse competition levels.

Mulcahy to the portal late. Rutgers is really turning over the roster.

    Are we done with signings?

My concern is that if you ask any 18-23 year old kid who had always been a great athlete if they are going to be fine the answer will be yes like 99.9% of the time. You think fox or II don't think they will be the same guy they were 2 years ago? Of course they do. And I think CBJ is a...

    Are we done with signings?

I see RJ posted a new minutes projection yesterday and had 0 minutes for Fox. Doesn't mention him at all. That to me signals he is probably not playing much at all if any. We need to fill that roster spot. We are already wasting multiple scholarships, can't waste another. And looks like 8...

    Gopher Coaching Staff Questions

ZERO info but just being logical this is my guess. And yes I'm excited to hear about how this is negative 🤷‍♂️ Thorson-lead asst, supposed defense guru, local guy with history. Never getting the ax. Jenkins/Kemp- I can see Coyle going to CBJ and asking if a shake up would be good. Now in my...

All Things Grayson Grove Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024, Alexandria, MN; 6-8, 190lb; Gophers Commit!

Idea is good, but in soccer those are professional players under contract. Can't do that with a kid in college. Guessing not too many kids would be excited thinking they got signed to say OSU only to have to play in front of 1,200 people at say Vermillion for a year or more.

All Things Grayson Grove Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024, Alexandria, MN; 6-8, 190lb; Gophers Commit!

Ben hasn't recruited anyone that good. Carr did it twice, Pitt to MN to TX. Ryan Young and Pete Nance both did it at NW. Yes it's not as prevalent but when you are consistently finishing last in your conference its going to happen. But clearly CBJ is totally fine with 4-5 guys on the roster...

All Things Grayson Grove Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024, Alexandria, MN; 6-8, 190lb; Gophers Commit!

I understand some don't like it, but for me it's tougher in 2023 to take a project kid like Grove. The issue now with projects is that they never stick around. You either end up with TT who isn't good enough, or you end up with a player who out performs his recruiting profile and goes to...

Post Free Agency Declare/Pre NBA Draft Decision Big Ten Standings Projection

I'm surprised all the Michigan and IU hate. Yes they lost great players but they git in some nice pieces. IU not only got Johnson back, but added Ware, Mgabko, Sparks and a few high 4*. Michigan got in Love, Jackson and Burnett. All pretty known quantities. I'm not predicting final 4 for either...

Did the Gophers improve their backcourt this offseason?

This might come as a shock...but I agree with most of this! Stats for transfers up can be deceiving a bit. Different leagues, styles, roles. I would say on the surface, this looks like an improvement. This discussion should also include Carrington who will likely be better and Christie who...

2023 College Basketball Transfer Portal Watch Thread

I dont think this really matters honestly. Every team in every conference has portal entrants. You can give a kid all the time and opportunity in the world, still might leave. It's the nature of the game now. A lot of it unfortunately is handlers/agents etc telling kids the grass is always...
