I like Autman-Bell a lot, but i'm also looking forward to finally cycling out the guys who got the extra Covid year. Not just on the gophers but in general.
Guys in their third year should not be being blocked by guys in the seventh (!)
I think this has played a role in the crazy transfer...
why is Lemeke Brockington being completely overlooked. if he was the leading receiver this year it wouldn't surprise me at all. he has great chemistry with AK
Carter is a big loss, and we lost some solid experienced contributors on the back end. The guys they brought in to backfill I don't feel are up to the same level and are new to the system. I trust that Rossi will coach them up and other guys will emerge, but we're a developmental program and...
Of course i'll be pulling for him, but it feels like we're just grasping at straws to fill holes on defense at this point. We really got nailed by the portal on D. Brace yourselves for a DT transfer from another rando MAC school.
Sonny Dykes offense, close to home. I think it was a no brainer movie. Just didn't click here for whatever reason, but I always have respect for the southern kids that go up to Minnesota. They're really going out of their comfort zone in a lot of ways.
The tone of PJ's press conference wasn't as sunshine and rainbows as usual, and I won't say it's concerning but definitely noteworthy. I think all the key portal departures and graduates have left us in a bit of a bind on defense.
I feel like Potts was just rounding back into form at the end of last season. He's gonna be a good pickup for someone.
But I think Tyler/Crooms will be upgrades from Potts/MBS
It is definitely winnable. Their defense has been awful for the most part. I think it will be a fun game either way. I love our schedule next year. Even if we don't win as many games, every week we have a good opponent.
We'll definitely be underdogs at UNC. Drake Maye will be a Heisman contender next year. And Eastern Michigan and Louisiana are not pushovers either.
The conference schedule is brutal. 7-5 is my expectation. Anything more will be gravy.
Mo's departure, Athan's emergence, beefing up the WR corps through the portal, and promoting Simon all seems to indicate we'll be shifting to a more balanced, less run-heavy offense.
