    What are we afraid of?

If it can be done, the margin for error is non-existent. Need to hold a 14 pt lead in 2014. Can’t drop the ball at Iowa in 2019. Can’t have the ball bounce off hands in the end zone at Purdue in 2022. Can’t have the guy who never fumbles fumble against Iowa.

Wow: Kirk Ciarrocca Takes OC Job at Rutgers

Could be worse, Iowa wishes Rutgers would poach their OC.

12 losses to note by teams ahead of Gophs (#36) in AP poll

Great defense doesn’t get noticed as much as offense. The B1G West has multiple teams with very good defense and this year maybe stronger than usual with Illinois and Purdue being improved. Michigan is clearly in a different league, but their lowest point games came against Illinois and Iowa...

    Gopher Running Back Mount Rushmore.

I’d prefer to limit a Rushmore to those who achieved a U of MN degree. Hard to figure out if Nagurski received a degree, he gets a spot if so. Same for Bruce Smith, he was considered a senior when he won the Heisman but not sure if a graduate. If so, Gophers’ only Heisman makes it...

POST GAME THREAD: Sound off!!! Gophers beat Syracuse!

Like the results of that 12 man defense. Almost pulled that off. PJ’s teams don’t try the cheating route much. Gophers seemed to have a problem tackling, they would lay a shoulder but not wrap up. Maybe that was the field condition.

POST GAME THREAD: Sound off!!! Gophers beat Syracuse!

Hope they put the trophy next to the broken chair at next year’s State Fair.

POST GAME THREAD: Sound off!!! Gophers beat Syracuse!

Probably wouldn’t expect the final score if you saw Syracuse with 477 yards to Gophers 217 and 8 more minutes of possession. Checked all the boxes though with win, Mo with records, Morgan getting a nice final effort, see new stars like Bryson.

Fleck on Mo: "I am honored to coach that kid. The hardest part about this is that this is the last 36 hours I have with him.”

Good catch. Sports-Reference.com doesn’t and therefore already has Mo as the leader. The target being shared in Randy’s article does include Darrell’s Bowl game. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/minnesota/rushing.html

Fleck on Mo: "I am honored to coach that kid. The hardest part about this is that this is the last 36 hours I have with him.”

Does it make sense that Thompson does not get credit for 136 yards in the 1986 Liberty Bowl but Mo gets credit for his multiple bowl games? Might be nice if Mo got 195 yards so we don’t need an asterisk. Glad I got to watch both of them.

    Bowl Game Projections?

But a selling point is that Jack won’t be there.

    Bowl Game Projections?

LSU and Clemson losing, increases chance OSU may back into playoff. Good chance OSU makes it if USC or TCU were to lose their conference championship game. Penn St should be up to 10th and in NY6 with Oregon and Clemson losing.

Reusse: Gophers should be in market for transfer QB. The redshirt freshman needs to win job, not have it handed to him.

Hate that the transfer portal is the go to solution. Wrong message. I’ll take one Mo, one David Cobb over a 1000 Irving’s.

    Mo: Love You Minnesota.

In a game dominated by money, it’s Mo, Tanner, and the many team players who keep the game watchable. Thank you Mo for representing the Maroon and Gold and contributing so much to the Gopher team.

Post Game Comments from Fleck on KFAN

They lost because they don’t know how to defend tight ends. Not sure that is PJ, seems an Achilles heel for Rossi’s defense. Tight ends seem to wear invisibility cloaks to the Gophers.

Could next weeks Iowa game be the coldest game in recent memory?

Keep the core very warm - your extremities do better. Avoid cotton on the inner layer - has tendency to hold moisture and make you colder with time. At the Viking- Seahawk game a couple guys next to us brought pink foam to stand on - they weren’t tough enough for the second half so left and...
