All Things 2022 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

I hear ya. I don't think they do. I think longterm they view him as a SS or CF. I don't think they'll want to move him all over especially after not playing for 2 years. Plus Urshela has been great defensively at 3B, and Kepler and Celestino have been good at the plate. Sanchez has been adequate...

As much as I'd like to see Lewis stay up, I don't think he will. There's just not an everyday position for him right now unless they play him at LF. I don't see them keeping him around as a DH/utility player. They'll want him to continue to play everyday.

Jaxon Howard lists Gophers in final four

I actually think it's between us and Miami. Those 2 are also his first and last visits. Oregon was high on his list and then that changed to Miami when Cristobal left Oregon for Miami.

It sounds like Towns is already starting to break down. Great time to trade him while his value is high. Of the 4 remaining teams, nearly all of their scoring comes from the G/F positions. The only exception is Bam Adebayo, who is an elite defender, unlike Towns.

Yup. Rogers also has a blown save in a game the Padres ended up winning. This is why I said closer is the most overrated position in baseball when he was traded. Even the good ones blow ~5 saves per year. If the Twins eventually need a better one, they can go pick one off of a bad team for a...

I'm not sure why so many seem surprised about Buxton. He is made of glass. We're talking about the same guy who missed spring training time because he chipped a tooth on a steak. If he plays 100 games it's a minor miracle.

    Taurus Samuels Commits to Gophers!!

I’m not moving the goalposts at all. That’s what you and others are trying to do especially with your last sentence that’s completely made up. ISU has 2 MN players committed for next season that are higher ranked than any of Ben’s recruits. They both have MN offers, TJ didn’t win those battles?

Minnesota is the only place Garcia can get a waiver to play next season. Makes a bit of a difference.

Hunter could have left, Thompson could have too. Neither had to stay, just like anyone else on either roster. It's called recruiting, and the only difference is that TJ is better at it. Of course Ben will be here for awhile, and I hope he wins here. I'm tired of the losing. But I'm also tired...

Their cupboards weren't different, they were nearly identical. TJ 'inherited' 2.4 ppg of production, BJ 'inherited' 2.8, which didn't end up playing. TJ recruited his way to a sweet 16 team in the best conference. Ben recruited his way to a last place team in a slightly weaker conference...

TJ still had to convince that top 40 kid to stay. If he was 'given' Hunter, then Ben was given everyone from the previous roster not named Marcus Carr and Jamal Mashburn Jr.

ISU's cupboard wasn't bare? They returned 1 player from the previous season who averaged 2.4 ppg. TJ had an entirely new roster, just like Ben.

It is. LaVine wasn't a good defender by any means but he worked harder and was better than Wiggins. Wiggins has improved now that he's surrounded by good defensive players, but he's still below average.

LaVine played more defense when he was here than Wiggins did.

Height is only one factor, I've been very consistent on that. Same with Walton, I said he wouldn't be a Gopher, nor should we want him to be based on watching him play. I've also been consistent on that. Ben also appears to agree. You're the one consistently making things up.

O'Connell was a 4* top 70 recruit who started his career at Duke, and had a nice end to it with Creighton last year. He played guard his entire college career. Henley is now 6'8", which he said so himself when he signed, and only had 2 offers out of high school. Big difference. Keep making...
