    I think that's true to an extent. But when the Gophers do well ... the bank fills up. There's demand, waiting for a trigger. It won't be like the Vikings where they sell out almost by default, but if you get the fans going they do show up and get loud.

    I don’t recall a Big Ten commissioner saying that they’ve seen some offers and they didn’t see an offer that offered anything that they couldn’t just do themselves… and not sell out.

    I honestly think that idea is more often used as a sort of excuse more than the actual reason. Maybe the folks making the call aren’t sure of making a good hire now / don’t want to pay a big buyout just yet so …. Yeah we’re gonna wait because recruiting….
