***OFFICIAL PURDUE AT MINNESOTA AFTERNOON IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Your points 2 and three are spot on and sum it up well. It’s so funny to read the game-day comments about how great we played when we win and how terrible we played (and poorly we coached) when we lost. The reality is that , for the most part, we have consistently gotten a high rate of open...

Chip: Richard Pitino must address a Gophers liability: rotten shooting

I agree with this from a defensive perspective. However, from an offensive perspective, Maryland knew we are a terrible jump-shooting team. Their defense was designed to keep us out of the paint and dare us to shoot threes. Many of those three-point attempts were open looks and we couldn’t...

If Big Ten Tournament Held Today

Good one! Then after the quality road win, it’s “well, let’s see them finish in the top four of the Big 10”, and after that, it’s “I’m not a believer until they win the Big 10”, and after that, “I’ll wait until they make the Final Four”, and then, “They have never won a Natty”. Not sure what...

    Treyton Thompson

Well, our very own Liam Robbins is an example of improvement from hard work and good coaching. As a 7-footer, he couldn’t even get a scholarship until after going to prep school. Even then and after losing 50 pounds of blubber, Drake was his best offer. Look at him now. There is hope!

    Treyton Thompson

Wow, very underwhelming reviews of Thompson here. How did he ever get a 4-star rating? (One of the recruiting services)

THE GOPHERS ARE NO LONGER RANKED/RECEIVING VOTES IN THE AP POLL

I agree, however it doesn’t bother me much. I think it ultimately reflects well on us. As of now, we have beaten the #4, #7, #15 and #25 teams. Pretty amazing for a group of guys expected to finish in the lower half of the conference before the season.

    Mashburn!!!

I’ve been puzzled by his poor shooting this year. Like Gabe, his shooting form looks good, and he doesn’t seem to lack confidence. I thought he had the reputation as a good shooter in high school. I’m hoping it’s just freshman jitters and he turns out to be a good shooter. This team...

    3 Point Shooting

Our current starters and reserves logging significant minutes appear to be a really poor bunch of shooters. Robbins has shot it the best. Pretty sad state of affairs when your true center is your best 3-pt shooter. Thus far, I’m most surprised by how poorly Gabe, Mash and Ihnen have shot...

Donation page to extend Pitino - UPDATED (2/4) - Suspended Indefinitely Due to Ridiculous Road Record

I think we got your “really good one”. Only one of four teams on CB who have beat four top-25 teams this year.

How well can he shoot? I’m tired of bricklaying athletes.

***OFFICIAL MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

You have been consistent in your message, and today’s game proved your point loud and clear. 0-12 from three at the half, yet led against a top-10 team? All about defense. Let’s hope this message gets through to the team, and they bring it every game from this point on.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT IOWA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

We need to change recruiting priorities. Shooting ability needs to be #1. No more scouting reports like this (fill in the blank with any number of current Gopher players): “Good athlete and hard worker. Once he develops an outside shot, he has a chance to be a nice player.” Ridiculous.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT IOWA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Please Pitino, recruit some shooters. I’m so tired of watching such embarrassing displays of rim clunking and air-balling. Are good shooters that hard to find? We routinely have very few. At this point, I would rather have five un-athletic shooters than a bunch of olympic leapers who...

    Reality

This. If you compared our starting five to Michigan’s position-by-position, Carr is the only one that gets the check-mark in the MN column. Simple as that. Hard to win when you are significantly out-talented. With that said, the margin of victory was ridiculous, and is evidence of poor...

    ***OFFICIAL - REAL U OF M (GOPHERS) @ FAUX U OF M (WOLVERINES) - GAME THREAD!!!***

I think this game just exposed the fact that the skill level of our players after Carr and Robbins is just not anywhere near the level of a top-ten team. Shooting, ball-handling, passing-not even close. We still have a nice team, and probably a top-25 team. We have few guys that can...

    Fall Scrimmage Snippets

I would love to see that, too. However, is it just me, or does he seem too big and lacking quickness to effectively play receiver? He seems built more like a receiving tight end (Irv Smith type) to me.

Carter Coughlin was among the protesters on the highway at the time of the semi-truck incident

Our friend knows the driver and told us he absolutely did not intend to hurt anyone. He was on his way home after a trip. His wife is pregnant with their first child, and now they are getting death threats. So sad. While I can sure understand the rush to judgement (I made the same...
