[Official] The Big Ten Champion and Big Ten Tournament seeding will be determined using win percentage

Having been a Gopher hockey fan for almost 50 years ,I have a bit of a romance with the NCHC because many of our biggest rivals from the “old” WCHA are in it. There is nothing like it today. Sold out games! Spirited rivalry’s! The NE section! Best of all quality play! Minnesota Pride on Ice...

Minnesota-Ohio State men’s game from Jan. 30 the most-watched NCAA hockey game in Big Ten Network history

I am hoping against hope that that your prediction of future Glory Days of Gopher Hockey might be over but deep down I have to admit that that thought has come to me too. I have to add Justin Hall’s goal in the Frozen 4 in Philadelphia against the Sioux when he scored short handed in a tie game...

Minnesota-Ohio State men’s game from Jan. 30 the most-watched NCAA hockey game in Big Ten Network history

I hope that this is an sign that in October, 2021 -Covid allowing- we will see a live sold out Gopher Hockey season. As a 40 year season ticket holder, it was hard to believe that I was at Gopher Hockey in an almost empty arena last year. It had to be hard for the players to be motivated playing...

Shooter: Don Lucia is among finalists for commissioner of the upstart Central Collegiate Hockey Association

I had hoped that he would have gotten the job of Commissioner of the BIG Hockey Cinference and we would have gotten a new coach.

Sid: It's a sad state of hockey as Wild, Gophers lose fans

I am one of those niche fans of Gopher Hockey but not exuberant over its fall from the top. Over 40+years I saw the best of Gopher hockey. so it is so hard to give up the dream of a return to the top. While I understand those fans who have fallen away, I am hoping for the return Pride on Ice...

Which player made you fall in love with March Madness?

I agree . I was in Lexington to see the game as a Georgetown supporter and we were all very disappointed.

    The Scheme on HBO

We watched it too and came away with the same thoughts. We have loved following college basketball through many years even attending many Final Fours but after watching that documentary, watching college basketball will never be the same. If you want to solidify your thoughts read the book...

What team did you really like that was not Gopher basketball?

I was at the Final Four game where they lost in the last seconds because they didn’t realize they were out of time outs. I am 76 but at that time thought they were the “team to hate” probably because they were so good!

    Next Year

I would also give a big shout out to Coach Motzko and all the players for showing growth throughout the year. I am one of Gopher hockeys biggest fans and feel confident the team is on its way back. Also when at a basketball game all the Gopher athletes who had a 3.5 gpa came out on the court at...

Charles Hallman: Gopher recruiting failures lead to chronic weakness

WE have had season tickets for 40 years. Hardly ever missed a game in all that time and stayed with the team cheering them on through the good and the bad years. Our grandchildren learned the Minnesota Rouser as their first song and to this day still sing it even though they are in Boston so I...

Shama: Sources say Coyle had decided to fire Pitino, reached out to possible replacements, "(probably) spared by the pandemic"

I would hope that players go to school, to do their best there, and play basketball in exchange for room, board and tuition- and hopefully be prepared for bigger and better things after graduation. Regarding the cheaters, I believe that coaches should be fired and programs should lose their...

    Next Year

I agree with your end of the year evaluation. I do believe that we have a coach that can do the job as he has previously shown both here during his previous time at Minnesota and his work at St. Cloud. We have enough confidence to keep our season tickets for 2020-2021 which we were considering...
