Iowa State AD’s frustration with Big Ten, SEC boils over: ‘Let ’em break away’

They probably couldn't be if one of the conferences simply expanded to take over all the teams from the other conferece, right? OK. So which of the two is going to abandon all of its history and tradition, and entirely bow down and submit to the other, then? Yeah, right. Neither of them

Iowa State AD’s frustration with Big Ten, SEC boils over: ‘Let ’em break away’

I can't say for sure if he was in fact referring to the following thing, but here is my guess: he thinks if the Big Ten and SEC split away from the NCAA, they would be legally required to be two standalone conferences/entities (at least for some amount of time). Why in the world would that...

Who is your "I wish we played them every year," opponent for the Gophers?

Michigan wishes they played us every year, too. We have six total wins against them since 1964 (the last 52 games) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Brown_Jug_(college_football_trophy)#Game_results

    Twins/Vikings/Wild/Wolves Championship appearance drought tracker

Maybe But I'm going with it. Detroit is at best the same "loserville" as MSP, but far more likely they are actually worse

I don't think so. I think people who come to this thread like the ability to complain about things so far in the past (ie. more than 10 years ago) that they are irrelevant, simply because it gives them something to complain about.

    Liebentritt Commits NE Safety

Understand about camp season ... but I thought it was camp season before their Junior year where kids tend to blow up and get major offers? Well anyway, I beat this dead horse. We'll see what happens with this kid, hope he has a great senior season* *so long as it doesn't result in him...

Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby is checking into a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction.

I'm just glad that one of the main public proponents of turning major college football into the grotesque setup of the English Premier League -- ie. unlimited, no-cap spending where only the richest teams that can spend the most money get to have a legit chance at a championship -- got his hand...

Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby is checking into a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction.

I don't think Sorsby's football career overall should be scuttled. And it won't. He will get drafted in the supplemental draft. But he's done in college, as he should be.

Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby is checking into a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction.

Would love to see that court battle get played out, and for Campbell to get absolutely dragged through the mud for trying to rip away the money he promised this young man because it turns out the young man has an addiction problem. Yeah, that'll play. And Sorsby won't play, which is the...

All Things 2026 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

Every head coach, coordinator, and GM, on every team, every single year should be looking at that year as "how do we get to the Super Bowl this year". If they aren't doing that each and every year, they should be fired.

All Things 2026 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

Sure you do. And I think it is well known that Vikings over Kwesi's tenure were one of the lowest in the league in starts by players they drafted. Something like that, can't remember the exact stat. But I also think that stat highly depends on who the team already had as starters and then of...

All Things 2026-27 College Football Head Coach Fired/Hired/Retired Thread

Agree that that's close, but is not the same as the Vikings hiring a coach directly off the Gophers' staff, as the Broncos hired directly off the Buffs' staff. Just interesting to me. Anyway, not a big deal

It stops being a meaningful distinction after 10 years, though. MSP and Detroit, equally non-championship appearing for 10 years.

    Twins/Vikings/Wild/Wolves Championship appearance drought tracker

"Securing a #1 seed" is an absolutely made up, hand waved thing by you. So what? It has absolutely nothing to do with championship appearance. The Lions did not get a trophy for "winning" the NFC North. There is no such thing.

You do .... know that we are currently living in the year 2026 .... right? If my math is correct, the Red Wings haven't made it to the Stanley Cup in the last 18 seasons. They haven't even qualified for the playoffs in the last ... 10 seasons??? Yikes

    Twins/Vikings/Wild/Wolves Championship appearance drought tracker

You falsely tried to pick one season, arbitrarily 2024, so if it was going to be only one season it should be the latest season, which the Vikings objectively were superior. Agreed it shouldn't be one season. Vikings and Lions are tied, both a fully saturated 10+ years of no SB appearance...
