Transfer-outs 2025 performance (a little sad about all the busts)

Other than OT Daniels and maybe Safety Bryson, they all needed to move to smaller schools to see the field. Those that didn't move down, mostly didn't get to play.

PP: Are Niko Medved’s Gophers an NCAA tournament team?

NCAA talk, a team can be a lock, considered likely to make it, has a shot, unlikely, and dream on. I think the gophers are somewhere between unlikely and "it has a shot".

All Things Class of 2027 Minnesota Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

I watched a few clips of Nur during these camps. He played the 4/5 for Hopkins, and the guards shot a lot. He is showing big time SF skills at 6-9 at these camps. He can handle it, hit from 3, and drive from 3 to the rim. He is rising fast and Kentucky has offered. Possibly the next...

Doesn’t it seem like he should have been offered a long time ago

Ahmed Nur just earned MVP of the NBPA top 100 camp. I am not sure what chance the gophers had previously, but I can see some blue bloods offering now.

What Grade Do You Give the 26-27 Roster?

Again, you like the offensive potential as better. I agree. We lost our most athletic and best defender, that is my additional observation. IF you add better shooters, but less strong, athletic players, you give up defense. This is a trade. It is the one thing Niko wasn't able to add. It...

What Grade Do You Give the 26-27 Roster?

First - Shooting. We had some good shooters, but not nearly enough. Reynolds playing 35+ minutes per game killed the offense. I loved what he brought in terms of toughness, strength, and defensive prowess, but man, it hurt the offense's flow when the defense could collapse the lane. With the...

ESPN: Ranking the offseason for every Power 4 college football team (#9 in BT: Minnesota)

Anyone else feel we were a much better running team with the RPO as a staple? I fully expect a good to very good defense. I expect an improved passing game. But if we can't improve on 103 rushing yard per game, 3.6 average, the offense won't be that improved.

All Things Jack Thelen Recruitment Thread (7-1 from Maple Grove)

He seems like someone who would benefit more from going to a mid-major and playing, and if he improves, then move up to major division 1. I see him sitting for at least a couple of years if he comes to Minnesota as a freshman.

ESPN: Ranking the offseason for every Power 4 college football team (#9 in BT: Minnesota)

We basically traded Koi and his NIL $ for some top level mid major DT's, and DE Bush. We were super thin at DT, and we have some Safety options to replace Koi.

    Current Roster, Positions, Depth

Why did Niko recruit transfers with no experience? If he was only worried about next year, wouldnt it make sense to take only would be SR's?

    Current Roster, Positions, Depth

Niko rarely lost more than one contributing player to the portal at CSU, a mid-major. We returned all the healthy contributing players from last year. So, while there is this trend, certain teams have a good track record of not losing contributing players to the portal. Part of that is...

Niko on Palmer: "Malachi is a tough, physical guard that plays with a big motor," Medved said. "With his size, he has great versatility in guarding multiple positions. Offensively, Malachi is a good shooter with the ability to make big-time shots. Playing in the NCAA Tournament last year, he's...

    Current Roster, Positions, Depth

Something to ponder. Niko went after mostly underclassmen in the portal, meaning maybe not as good next year, but makes the future look bright. Evans should start, and Palmer should be in the top 7. SR's: Evans, Durkin, and JCJ JR's: Asuma, Palmer So's: N. Groves, M. Kordell, G. Groves...

    Malachi Palmer commits

I am excited for Palmer. We already have one good defensive guard in Asuma, we have a good post defender in JCJ, and now we have a strong, athletic wing, who can probably guard 3 positions in Palmer. There will be nights when a wing/forward is just killing us, and the coach now has options.

    Current Roster, Positions, Depth

Asuma is more of a pure pg then Evans. Evans is the better shooter. Evans is much skinnier and will have trouble on some switches. I'm not sure Niko needs a pure pg. Now if we could get a super fast pg, one who could penetrate and set others up, that would be superb! Asuma 3.7 assists per...

    Current Roster, Positions, Depth

Compared to last season, we have lots of forwards and depth everywhere. The potential above average defenders: Asuma, Palmer, and JCJ. Palmer will play more than people realize. 6-6 215 and built. We added size, depth, shooting. We went about even on athleticism. I am not sold on whether...

    Malachi Palmer commits

As the team would get fatigued, they would sometimes just jack up not good three's instead of running offense. With this depth, hopefully that is done away with.

    Malachi Palmer commits

6-6 215 and he looks athletic in the video. We needed to replace Reynold just to maintain last years athleticism. 36% from 3 is good also.

Yahoo article way too early 2027 NFL draft top 25 Prospects; look at number 24.

I might not be good at math, but if there are two rounds of 32 picks, someone is saying he is one of the top 64 players. So, we shouldn't be shocked he isn't in the top 25. He could be player 26-62. I agree though Anthony Smith is a player. He would look good in purple. But with us running...
