Fleck on NIL, Season Results, Next Year, & Indiana

Regardless of rank they plucked 55 players from the portal that they could plug in. Including one of the top qb transfers. It still took two years. In the old system I don’t even know what the equivalent turn around time would be, four or five years?

Shama: Contract Extension for P.J. Fleck Reportedly in the Works

Says a lot more about the AD as it shouldn’t be like killing teeth if they wanted a great football program. What’s it matter if the pool matches Fleck at 12th vs 16th or whatever it is, it’s not close to elite either way.

Shama: Contract Extension for P.J. Fleck Reportedly in the Works

It shouldn’t have to be negotiated if the AD is committed to having a great football program.

Shama: Contract Extension for P.J. Fleck Reportedly in the Works

And that’s Fleck’s fault? It’s been this way my whole life.

Shama: Contract Extension for P.J. Fleck Reportedly in the Works

His salary was like 12th in the conference as of last year. Can’t hardly justify paying him much less. It’s not his fault the assistants aren’t getting paid properly.

Fleck on Perich: “we knew during the season that he was leaving”; says he received a $2 million package to join the hugely-funded Ducks

I think they just knew he was leaving, they weren’t saying he had a $2 mil deal lined up with Oregon half way through the season.

Fleck says MN is putting much greater emphasis on recruiting and developing high school athletes than through Portal

The problem is they were doing it our way previously and beating us that way, they have now found a better way and will now be beating us worse.

Fleck says MN is putting much greater emphasis on recruiting and developing high school athletes than through Portal

Much cheaper for good reason, but you can’t even put a $50,000 high school kid on the field 95% of the time. You can get free transfers that are at least physically in much better shape than the average high schooler.

Fleck on Perich: “we knew during the season that he was leaving”; says he received a $2 million package to join the hugely-funded Ducks

Lol who was the poster that was mad that Fleck didn’t post a thank you to Koi? That was a wild take.

Fleck says MN is putting much greater emphasis on recruiting and developing high school athletes than through Portal

Everyone says the transfers cost way more NIL, but I don’t know if that’s true. Maybe for the high end guys, but your blue chip high schoolers probably cost more than former blue chips that didn’t produce in their first couple years of college. There’s thousands of kids still sitting in the...

Fleck on Perich: “we knew during the season that he was leaving”; says he received a $2 million package to join the hugely-funded Ducks

Interesting that they knew half way through the year. I’d like to know the details of that discussion.

GPL: Minnesota Athletics Reports Record $163.6M in Revenue for FY25

Well you have your opinion and then you have the undeniable fact they all were given raises at their new locations, but sure I’m being ignorant.

Less high school kids more transfers

Why would you need to hit on 30 transfers a year? You can still get a good foundation off of 15-20 high school kids per year.

GPL: Minnesota Athletics Reports Record $163.6M in Revenue for FY25

Heatherman is just the latest in a string of coaches that left for the same position elsewhere all of which made more money by leaving. It feels like you’re trolling. Seriously we’ve never had an above average assistant coaching salary pool for our conference, and now all of a sudden you think...

GPL: Minnesota Athletics Reports Record $163.6M in Revenue for FY25

Ok so when you’re barely willing to have a top 25 paid coordinator as your highest paid assistant then that’s my point. We aren’t investing for elite coaches and compared to the rest of the conference it’s a joke.

GPL: Minnesota Athletics Reports Record $163.6M in Revenue for FY25

Right, he needed it when Miami came calling for Heatherman, where was it? You really think Fleck was like oh no big deal I can just replace him with Collins? You’re idea is our head coaches have always just been too stupid to take advantage of tons of money they could use to surround...

GPL: Minnesota Athletics Reports Record $163.6M in Revenue for FY25

No one ever argued that we don’t have money, everyone but you can see that it has never been invested into the football program.
