Surprise at #4 - CBS Projects Gophers Drake Lindsey to Get Drafted #4 Overall; Greg Johnson 15th

I don't know about first round but I won't be surprised if Smith is in the mix for an early round selection as well. He has the kind of Size and athletic ability that NFL teams will be drawn to.

Surprise at #4 - CBS Projects Gophers Drake Lindsey to Get Drafted #4 Overall; Greg Johnson 15th

So much of the NFL is projecting what they think a player will be vs. what the player currently is. Drake did a really solid job in his first season as a starter and I am really excited to see what he can do with a full off season to work on things and get better. The fact that he is getting...

Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby is checking into a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction.

Quote by Sorsby from the Article: "If I cannot practice with the team, it will be severely detrimental to my mental health and my development as an athlete," Sorsby said in an included affidavit. "Without access to coaching, teammates, and on-field repetitions, I cannot develop the chemistry...

Coach Coldest to Hottest Rankings: Big Ten (14. P.J. Fleck, Minnesota; 2. Luke Fickell, Wisconsin)

Honest question to the part in bold......Why? He had a good run at Cincinnati while they were part of the American football conference but his 3 years at Wisconsin have gotten progressively worse record wise and his one other power 4 season was the only time Ohio State has finished below .500...

Coach Coldest to Hottest Rankings: Big Ten (14. P.J. Fleck, Minnesota; 2. Luke Fickell, Wisconsin)

Locksley has been on the hot seat for years with Maryland but for whatever reason he never gets fired. Looking at the list most of the seats are very cold, only the top couple are warm at all. I would have Fickell above Locksley in the #1 spot. Another down year for him and he is 1000% gone.

Medved: I may be unpopular by saying this, but I feel like at some point we’re going to have to get to some sort of collectively bargained model.

NIL gets a bad rap because it is the disguise used to cover pay for play in basketball and football but NIL (real NIL, not the bastardized BS in the big sports) is something that was long overdue for college athletes. I'm still hopeful they can get to a workable solution eventually but I...

Two more Georgia football players arrested for driving violations

Really does put things into perspective. We have people acting like what Drake did is massive and it isn't even in the same stratosphere as the stuff the Georgia players pull on a fairly regular basis.

Lincoln, Nebraska sports radio host: "PJ (Fleck) owns Nebraska... PJ's the man."

1 - it is so weird seeing pics of Fleck with hair. 2 - I'm sure Nebraska people would love to see him leave Minnesota in the same way Minnesota people wanted Frost to stay forever with Nebraska. 3 - If Fleck truly didn't want to be here he would have jumped ship a long time ago. As others have...

Two more Georgia football players arrested for driving violations

He is a transfer so has to be forgiven for not understanding that a misdemeanor speeding charge is not living up to the high standard set by his teammates. I am sure in the future he will make sure the driving charge is also a felony to go along with any other charges. :) Kirby will set him...

    Current Roster, Positions, Depth

Agree completely. I would also think that coming off a year where 2 of his transfers never saw the court due to injuries (Omot and Stephens) that Niko would be very wary of bringing in anyone who he didn't think could contribute. Like I said, I get people being nervous about any sort of injury...

Drake incident poll. What's your opinion?

See....now had you just started with this take a big chunk of this thread could have been avoided :)

    Current Roster, Positions, Depth

I agree, but you have to understand why people are wary of anyone with any sort of injury issues coming off the year we just had when 2 guys never even saw the court due to injury and others were lost for the year.

Four Commits from Moorhead with the new commitment of CB Zac Walker

Not unhead of but I bet it is pretty rare for a MN high school to have 4 power 4 recruits on it. And when the team with that talent on it was the runner up the year before it would certainly seem like they would be a strong bet to at least be in the mix for the title again this season...

Four Commits from Moorhead with the new commitment of CB Zac Walker

Yeah, they are 6A in football, finished 2nd last year and assume are the favorites to win it this year. Definitely not a small school but still impressive for a MN school to have 4 guys going power 4 let alone all 4 heading to the same place. Has to be exciting for the 4 of them to know they...

In an important case for NIL enforcement, an arbitrator upheld a CSC decision denying 18 Nebraska players' deals worth millions of dollars.

I don't necessarily disagree that there is a sense of urgency to get deals reviewed and decisions made I just think the entire issue is way too complex for that to feasible. You would need a massive group of people on the enforcement side to make that happen and that presents a whole new level...

Crazy how simple the old system was. :) All for players getting some of the insane money in the system but it is a shame how this has all been handled and what it has done to the sports.

In an important case for NIL enforcement, an arbitrator upheld a CSC decision denying 18 Nebraska players' deals worth millions of dollars.

I don't think that would be possible given the number of deals and the amount of research needed to determine if they are legit or not.

Tate Wallace Commits to the Gophers

I mean sure....that could make sense....but that would require looking for the positive angle on why something is happening and that is just too much for some people. Easier to just assume the worst. :)

Tate Wallace Commits to the Gophers

Yeah, especially in a sport like football where it often takes guys multiple years to reach their full potential when the come in out of high school.

The enforcement piece is far and away the biggest hurdle. In the pro leagues there is structure due to the owners and the limited number of teams all contained in the same league with a vested interest to at least have some standards to keep teams on a similar footing even if it isn't equal...
