I see Ben as similar to the Wisconsin coach. There will be some good recruits but the key is the glue guys, Ben was the glue guy. We need Robbins, Johnson, Carr, and Mashburn back and keep the rest of the kids happy.

Won't matter which one....did you watch Pitino's offense? No sets and let Carr and Mashburn dominate the ball and slightly involve Robbins. When it comes to recruiting (when Ben was here). Who do you think had the last say.....(McKinley Wright versus a Jelly Fam for example)? Hard to blame...

Who was the established winner coaches out of the bunch outside of Musselman? There wasn't a Tubby available (as far as I could see). Dutcher, Medved, Smith, Gates, etc. are not splash hires. Throw Jacobson and Mitchell in there too. Mussleman hasn't gone deep into the tourney but it seems...

I still don't know how anyone can think Pitino is better at Johnson. I watched a couple of games and couldn't stand it. Tons of talent in Johnson, Robbins, Carr, and Mashburn. Talented bench but Pitino didn't run an offense... This team should have made it to the tourney as Pitino recruited...

How do you know? Give him some time. I watched one of Pitino's best rosters in his 8 years not be able to consistently shoot, run an offense, or play lockdown defense. We were pretty much back to square one.

Are you sure Gates is a better coach? I am not. Can Gates recruit better than Ben in MN.....I don't think so. Ben has a ton of MN connections.

Why would Coyle be fired? Look at what Fleck and Motsko have done? Look at the Volleyball Coach hire. Whalen and Johnson bleed MN....

Pitino is Brewster.....can somewhat recruit but is a better recruiter than coach.

Other than Moser, Dutcher, and Musselman (the only three big ones I would have gone after IMO) you would be in the same boat as Johnson....I think Johnson can recruit locally.
