***OFFICIAL RUTGERS VS MINNESOTA BIG TEN TOURNAMENT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Love that we get Rutgers first. Truly, one of the only teams I'm comfortable sitting back in the zone and letting them bomb away. Goal: Gizzi gets 5+ minutes late in this one. Have the ice baths ready post-game!

At least his parents' lives, I'd imagine. I think they go to every game!

    Turner no longer a Gopher

The zone could be a massive curveball next year. I really hope Niko picks spots to implement that.

Admittedly, the first time I paid attention to him was last night, so the sample size is small. I felt like so many of his shots were "circus/playground" type buckets. Like, no way you can count on that consistently. I thought his handle was a little loose, and his release on the three was...

Any chance we get JCJ back? For those who have been to games, is he in a boot? Limping?

***OFFICIAL NORTHWESTERN AT MINNESOTA SENIOR NIGHT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Man, 8-12 with all the adversity is such an amazing feat. Only us hardcore fans realize that. Next year is going to be so damn fun, and all the fair weather and national pundits will say we came outta nowhere.

    Turner no longer a Gopher

Why do we owe anybody anything? They all got paid, and ultimately weren’t worth it. I trust Niko’s judgement regardless, but I’d hope anybody with an injury history takes a pay cut if it allows us to be more competitive with an impact transfer.

He had such a massive opportunity. What a shame.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

When you play basically 5 guys, and they don’t all bring their “A” game, it can get out of hand fast. Only Tyson had it tonight. Asuma really needs to work on his stroke this offseason. We will need him to be much improved in the 3-pt department, especially if we are going to run it back with...

This is the way. Put the phone into focus mode and watch the whole game in under an hour, lol. Usually, I can catch up to the live broadcast during the under-4-minute TV timeout.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN, WHO CLEARLY WAS LOOKING PAST DUKE TO OUR GAME, IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

For all the **** we've endured over the last four years of Golden Gopher basketball, oddly enough, we've played Michigan pretty well, including on the road. Now this Michigan team is a different beast, but I'm clinging to those recent vibes.

***OFFICIAL RUTGERS AT MINNESOTA LET'S GET A WIN STREAK GOING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Exactly. Plus Niko can scheme defensively which has helped BD immensely make up for a lack of athleticism. BD could flounder in a lot of systems out there. I don’t think you risk that, but obvs money talks…

    Cedric Tomes commits!!!

I’ve only seen a few highlight type videos of him. Is Nate Mason a good comp? He’s not going to blow anyone away with his athleticism, but I thought he picked his spots well, and uses his body really well to create space.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT OREGON IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Every time I can't stay up for a late West Coast game, they win (dating back to last year). Just watched the replay. It was really fun to see them peak late in the 2nd half. Take care of business against Rutgers this weekend, and it's almost guaranteed we won't have to play on the terrible...

Shooter: Don’t be surprised if former Orono star Nolan Groves ends up with the Gophers for his sophomore season.

I’d argue he needs to be the main ball handler. He is not a SG. He’s had the opportunity to shoot much higher volume this year, and they need a pure shooter in the off guard role. Asuma is struggling because he has to do way too much ATM with the injuries. With more talent around him, I think...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT WASHINGTON VALENTINES 💘 NIGHT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I hear ya. He should be playing. Selfishly, I want to see if he can be a player next year, and wish he would let lose. I’ve been really disappointed with his arch this year. I felt like he showed some flashes early, but as he’s been given an opportunity to play, he’s totally fumbled it.
