Sophie Hart talks about playing for her hometown team.

Pretty sure it is completely up to her as to whether she or the school can or should release details about her physical injury to the public. Medical privacy rules and such. She, nor the the school, is under any obligation to tell us what she was dealing with. Obviously, if she chooses to try...

Sophie Hart talks about playing for her hometown team.

May have shown the greatest year to year improvement over her time here as any player in recent history. May not be an All-American, but she sure made a lot of plays for the Gophers this season. Not much flash, but seemed to just put her head down and get the job done. A lot to be said for...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA VS UCLA SWEET 16 IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Fun season to watch our Gophers! Saw some real growth from some of our team as the year progressed. Hart became a more consistent threat in the post. Braun finally came back and did what we hoped she could do by the end of the season. Battle proved to be one of the better all-around players...

All Things 2026 Transfer Portal Thread

How much NIL would one have to donate to not just sit in the War Room, but override choices made by coaches in favor of who I want because I, the long-time superfan, have been checking stats and saw several of their games on TV and think they would be awesome?!?! :ROFLMAO:

All Things 2026 Transfer Portal Thread

I saw this bit on Shoresy. 2 French-Canadian announcers practicing the possible play-by-play combinations of the vast number of opposing players from the other team with very similar first and last names. It was hilarious!

Then be part of the solution. Grab a whistle, get the training and show the rest of us how it's done. Or, become such a respected expert that you are in charge of training referees to do it the way you think is correct. Don't just bitch about a perceived problem, be the solution!

***OFFICIAL OLE MISS VS MINNESOTA RD OF 32 NCAA TOURNAMENT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I think GG is fine. She had plenty of confidence to knock down that big 3 during the comeback and also pull down some big rebounds. She is a player that will run into match-up problems from time to time that will cause her some issues. The baseline blow-by she gave up at the end of the game...

***OFFICIAL OLE MISS VS MINNESOTA RD OF 32 NCAA TOURNAMENT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I see so many fans make so many dumb comments early in a season or during a game, pretty much based on a very small and sometimes immediate sample size, and then come back with the "Glad I had to eat my words" comment. Drives me nuts. #1, it shows me you don't really understand that basketball...

    Asuma

I think Asuma is pretty much where we all should have expected him to be at this point in his career. Good but not Elite prospect coming in. Got his feet wet as a freshman. Got thrown deep into the actual fire sooner than expected, due to injury to the starting point guard early during his...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

That's what I saw too. Lots of great action to get a good high/low going and then they started getting dribble penetration at the end and that was the game. Defensively, they did a great job of covering cuts and making us try to win from deep. Guess we were due for a cold shooting game, but...

How Good Will Tori Oehrlein be?

I wonder if any of these "Non-High School" affiliated summer league type teams/programs actually put any effort into creating a defensive system and grading players on their abilities on that side of the floor. I admit that I've never really watched summer league ball and never had a chance to...

How Good Will Tori Oehrlein be?

Most of my experience is that the real jump starts near the end of their sophomore year and you really start to see what you have in their junior year. However, a player who's on the floor, getting reps with the starters from early in their freshman season, might come along a little faster.

***OFFICIAL UCLA AND CRABBY CRONIN AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

That was an entertaining game to watch. The fact that the good guys made the plays at the end of the game and won made it a great Saturday to be a Gophers fan.

How Good Will Tori Oehrlein be?

Well, if our top 2 recruits for next season only get minutes because of injuries to top starters or reserves, that will be less than ideal on a couple of levels for the Gophers.

How Good Will Tori Oehrlein be?

If she has as nice a freshman year at Tori M. had, I'd would consider that a grand slam homer. If she's able to earn 10-12 minutes a game and be a functional rotation piece, that would be what I am hoping for. If she ends up going through growing pains like Asuma did in his freshman year, but...

BIG Game 17: Gophers host Michigan State, Feb 22nd!

Interesting that you mention nothing about rebounding, defense, overall experience in Coach P's system or a similar system.

BIG Game 17: Gophers host Michigan State, Feb 22nd!

Coach will sit the new recruits down when they come to town this summer and explain what they need to do to earn & keep regular playing time. Won't need to, but probably will also explain that they may have a couple of experienced players (Braun, Tori, GG) who have a big head start above them...

BIG Game 17: Gophers host Michigan State, Feb 22nd!

Some people think playing defense at the major college level is simply a matter of working hard and staying in front of your assignment. Probably one of the major factors in earning important minutes is whether you are instinctively executing all the team concepts (offense or defense) all week...

BIG Game 16: Gophers host Ohio State, Feb 18th

As I watched it in real time and the replay, my thought was; "Probably not a double dribble, but very possibly a palm of the ball". Of course, players do that all the time and maybe one player gets called for it every 3-4 games.
