Cutting and pasting a story like this is both a copyright violation and a great way to discourage the Star Tribune from writing about women's basketball in the future, since the result is a story that doesn't get clicks and that, thus, does not appear to interest the paper's readers.

Texas Tech losing in the Big Twelve tournament (to lowly KSU) is great news for the Gophers. Charlie Creme had them projected as a 5 seed -- presumably, one of the teams that could thwart the Gophers' hopes of hosting -- but they'll drop now.

I guess an upbeat way to look at it is that all the starters were mentioned, and they are such a balanced team that that feels right .

It's a team of five. Has anyone tried to guess who? Betts, Rice, Olson and Heiden might be the four most likely. And Jazzy Davidson? Her team isn't great but she has gaudy stats.

Creme thinks Plitzuweit's old team, West Virgina, is the #5 seed that just misses hosting. Please join me in rooting for them to flop in their conference tourney.

Definitely helpful that the #17 team, Ole Miss ,(former OSU player Cotie McMahon's team) lost to lowly Texas A and M. Creates a little breathing room.

Lots will depend on tournaments but NC's good wins are not as good as the Gophers, so they shouldn't be a threat. Yet

Please. They gamed the NET system beautifully but I will never not wonder if the team would have been more ready for Kansas, Alabama, Maryland etc. if their non-conference play had been of their caliber instead of only one team that made it to 20 wins and five that finished below .500.

I've been thinking the same thing...

Analyst Andraya Carter on ESPN just now, talking about how, besides UCLA, others in the B1G will fare in the NCAAs: "I like this Michigan team, I like Minnesota. There are a few teams I have an eye on in the Big Ten."

More locker room fodder. Included: most of the usual suspects plus a headscratcher or two (I guess McGuff's DUI and accompanying viral video don't matter?). Not included: Plitzuweit...

OSU at a 4 seed, and it would be quite easy to flip those, based on results in the next few games, when OSU has a tougher schedule than the Gophers do (USC, MI, MSU).
