***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Nobody shot it decent tonight except Tyson. Isaac- 15 shots to get 13 points 0-7 from three. Yipes. Then you have the missed layups- probably 10 of them. Contested layups for sure, but those are shots you make at this level. Defense wasn't great tonight either. Ah well, so many good...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

They might have to go man to man in the 2nd. Only Asuma has 2 fouls so we should be okay in man. As big of an issue is that we are not hitting our shots. We can't compete in these games without shooting 40% or better from three point range. If we were there, it would be a 6 point game. Asuma and...

***OFFICIAL UCLA AND CRABBY CRONIN AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Yep- I feel that all of our guys have bought into the Niko system, enjoy playing in it and understand that they are as good as they can be when playing in a system like this under a coach like this. This ain't Ben or Pitino where the player's ability was the sole driver of his success. These...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN, WHO CLEARLY WAS LOOKING PAST DUKE TO OUR GAME, IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

That's what you want to do to a physically far superior team- make them beat you from deep. It's a chance. We lost by 10 but if Michigan has an off night and shoots 25-30% from 3 instead of the 42% they shot on 33 attempts- we would have been right to the wire.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN, WHO CLEARLY WAS LOOKING PAST DUKE TO OUR GAME, IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

It was one of the most masterful losses I have seen. There is no way they should have been able to keep it that close. And...if Michigan hadn't gotten red hot from 3 point range, making about 4 in a row, it might have been a nail biter.

Who is the Gopher MVP this year?

Fire him. If they were healthy- then maybe.

Who is the Gopher MVP this year?

It's Cade Tyson and it isn't close. The other team has to do everything possible to stop him. He is a terrific scorer who is unselfish and works just as hard without the ball as with it. The pressure he puts on other teams makes everyone else on the team better.

Niko should be in Big Ten coach of the year mix

I have enjoyed watching Niko's offense this year, but little noted has been the fact that the defense has been really solid despite the team having almost zero rim protection. On Evan Miya the Gophs rank 60th in defense and that is being accomplished in a really tough league. We have certainly...

Niko should be in Big Ten coach of the year mix

Interesting that we have the lowest average star roster (3.1) of anyone in the Big Ten.

Niko should be in Big Ten coach of the year mix

I think if we had closed out the Wisky game and then won against Maryland and Penn State as we should have- he would be right there for COY honors at the moment at 9-7. As it is no, but the guy is going to be a great coach here.

***OFFICIAL RUTGERS AT MINNESOTA LET'S GET A WIN STREAK GOING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Niko's counter is his offensive scheme which makes plays for guys like Tyson and Durkin. Tyson tried NCU.... So that and, this can be a tournament team next year, I really believe that. Build around, Durkin, Asuma and JCJ, add the promising frosh group and go get 3-4 transfers that can play.

Can it get any uglier than this? Brutal basketball.

Shooter: Don’t be surprised if former Orono star Nolan Groves ends up with the Gophers for his sophomore season.

He has been much better than last year but pretty inconsistent on offense. Defensively he has upped his game nicely. We need a guy with Reynold type athleticism, but a better shooter next to Asuma. Even with all the great movement in this offense, you still need a guy or two who can go to the...

Shooter: Don’t be surprised if former Orono star Nolan Groves ends up with the Gophers for his sophomore season.

Niko is going to go out and get good guards who can defend shoot and run. Groves? I don't know much about him. Evans is a good shooter who succeeded in Niko's system next to Nicque Clifford. He is a defensive liability against big guards. I'd take him, but I am not sure a duo of Evans and Asuma...
