The conference has always been terrible; but those are our peers and have always been our peers. Those Gopher fans who think the bar should be set higher than performing well in our conference are masochists pure and simple.

I would concede that this season was less strong than I expected. Obviously I agree with the point bolded in the post above because, as we all know, a team’s success in this sport is so driven by their pitching.

Was that over two games in a mid-week double-header?

Yeah, that’s probably true. But one can hope they play well and catch some breaks to win multiple games this coming weekend. I doubt we are going to pitch any shutouts so the batters are just going to need to hit the ball hard and hope that good things happen.

This is the type of complex analysis that exists in the background of creating a softball team which many fans don’t consider when they make their comments on the team and it’s future.

I love this post. So funny. Although dlw4gophers’ response was not exactly inaccurate. My preference is that our existing, young pitchers spend the summer getting a helluva lot better going into their Sophomore season and can really help out Susa when she gets here.
