Sydney Schwartz has done her part over these past 4 years. Good for her. She has been a good Gopher who fans should appreciate.

I see Jessica Oakland is playing SS and hitting 3rd for a very strong Duke team these days. Good for her. She, like Kendyll Lindaman, was a great Gopher softballer.

I have long thought that coach named Jamie Trachsel was quite the softball achiever, very accomplished for a northern woman in the southern softball power zone. I wonder if she will be available to move from the SEC soon? Would she be interested in the top spot here in gopher land?

I just saw the softballers started their Big Ten season with a big win. That is something to praise.

The Minnesota baseball team is doing better this year than they have performed for the last 5-6 years. Maybe they are a better entertainment product to spend one’s precious time in this life following?

I sure do appreciate those on the softball team that are trying to the extent of their ability.

Zero pre 2011 Big Ten teams made the ncaa baseball tournament. Big Ten expansion has been and will be a disaster for far-northern, legacy Big Ten programs like Minnesota for the two sports played on the diamond. A complete disaster.

Besides football (that team deserves credit!) all the sports I have tried to follow were the most boring to follow in decades: Baseball… boring! Softball… boring! Basketball.. boring! Volleyball… boring. Conference championships (even participation in conference championship games) are now...

The addition of USC, UCLA, Washington, and Oregon has led to the worst single all-sports school year 2024-2025 in the history of the Gopher athletic program. I knew adding those west coast teams to the Big Ten would be catastrophic for Gopher athletics… and it has been.

You all have read a lot from me over the years on this message board; but I am out. I just don’t care about Gophers softball at all anymore; not even a little bit.

I strongly support the college sports of track and field, cross country, gymnastics, and women’s soccer… but I bet not 0.05 percent of the Minnesota population can name a single student athlete on any of those teams.

The Gopher athletic program writ large is not in a good spot right now. Only football seems to be carrying its weight in my opinion. Many other Gopher sports teams appear to have dropped off quite a bit from 5-10 years ago; especially on the women’s side.

My guess is the number count of posts on this message board are going to keep going even further down… precipitously.
