If a writer has to stoop to dishonesty, he's weakening his own argument. No one has ever suggested that Fleck's 2025 team is equal to or better than a Gopher Rose Bowl team from the 60s.

You're probably correct about a possible typo. Maxy is usually pretty accurate. Yes, 2003 Gopher football went 10-3 (10th win was over Oregon in bowl game). That team won their first six games.

Thanks. That's the main point. If they're similar (as you say) or, even more perplexing, if the B1G is actually the better conference (as I maintain) then why are public perceptions so skewed in favor of the SEC? Because of the ESPN hype. And ESPN carries a lot of weight in college football...
