Dan Kosmoski / Former Gopher Retires from St Olaf

Pretty cool career! He was a big part of the Dutcher Camps at St Olaf in the '80's as an assistant for the Gophers. Always friendly and humble. Congrats to him!

Cade Tyson will participate in the 72nd-annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, April 15-18 in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Tyson has a chance to get drafted. ESPN and The Athletic rank him just outside the second round. There are some guys who invest a lot of time into this stuff who have him at the end of the 1st round. Some notes from one of them: Minnesota’s Cade Tyson is one of the most underrated prospects in...

Big Ten reigns as king of college sports: Conference stamps its mark in 2026 with championship dominance

Um, did Brock lesnar graduate yet? Wrestling is too far down my list to register for me. My bad.

Two more Georgia football players arrested for driving violations

I agree with you. It was an attempt at humor more than anything. Was it basketball’s Battle that got his bike stolen? Just the contrast struck me.

Two more Georgia football players arrested for driving violations

You make a good point. Back in the day when there was a Perkins open 24 hours everywhere...it's 1:30 - 2a.m. in the morning and half our softball team is hungry....the Perkins on 50th and Hwy 100 was rockin' as it always was at this time. We were stumblin' and loud and obnoxious and on the way...

Two more Georgia football players arrested for driving violations

Just another NIL problem in Georgia...they get too much money and buy fast cars. Gopher guys get their bicycles stolen or vandalized.

Shama: It’s believed Medved will have a program high of over $7 million to pay players for next season.

I found a contributing reason why not much has happened in the portal: Today is the first day recruits can visit campus or coaches can go visit players at their location. Meet in person. The last couple days they could only do zoom calls, text, email or phone players.

All Things 2025-26 College Basketball Coaches Fired/Hired/Retired Thread

There is a story in The Athletic talking about the hire of Malone at North Carolina. I'm on record questioning the choice before today. Well, now I'm doubling down. Malone turned them down .... a week or so ago...said he wanted to coach in the NBA. Then Lloyd, May, McCollum and who knows who...

Shama: It’s believed Medved will have a program high of over $7 million to pay players for next season.

Probably until next year's enrollment deadline. Hardly, the point....with supposedly 50% of the players in the portal...a lot will not find chairs.

Shama: It’s believed Medved will have a program high of over $7 million to pay players for next season.

This is only from two years ago...so it's not surprising it hadn't hit my radar yet. Only time goes fast. T Denny story

Big Ten reigns as king of college sports: Conference stamps its mark in 2026 with championship dominance

However, the Big Ten got to dominance that's cool. Not so cool is that Gophers are not in the title conversation in any of the sports. You are delusional if you think we are.

Shama: It’s believed Medved will have a program high of over $7 million to pay players for next season.

The result of that should be urgency on both sides? ...I haven't done the math but if I'm not a top 25 guy waiting seems risky. But maybe the Top 25-50 gotta go before schools resign themselves to offer 50-200 rated players. And maybe the 50-200 think they are a Top 25 kinda guy. And schools...

Shama: It’s believed Medved will have a program high of over $7 million to pay players for next season.

If we had newspapers...it would be fun to do a little investigative reporting and talk to a few agents and see what's going on in the portal. 1. We know there are way too many players for available roster spots. But yet, 2. We have like 5 guys a day signing...why is that? 3. How many offers a...

    Potential Changes to Eligibility Rules

"No waiver requests, redshirts or exceptions will be permitted, except for a small group of outliers (those on maternity leave, military service or religious missions)." I don't see any problem there...come on....Google says: There are an estimated 4,000 to 10,000 distinct religions worldwide...

    Gopher-centric Portal Short List

Niko knows Evans better than probably anybody else in the portal. If he wants him...cool. But, if Evans is the Tyson replacement and he takes the majority of our spending money...I'm nervous. I'd like Evans to be our third best portal recruit on paper. The top of the priority list comment...

All Things 2026 Transfer Portal Thread

We could give examples for days...but more comparable would be the Star Tribune or the Athletic...if I subscribe and read it....then I tell you what I read...you think I violated some law in 2026? I just don't see it that way. Maybe you are correct and technically it really is the law...IDK...
