All Things 2026 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

Over that 5 year period, only the following quarterbacks have started more than 10 games each season: Josh Allen, Jared Goff, Pat Mahomes (ends this season), Jalen Hurts, Baker Mayfield, and Trevor Lawrence (the last two sneaking in with 10 games in one of those seasons). Every team should have...

    All Things Movie/Documentary Reviews/Recommendations Thread

Wedged between the Oscar nominees, I found Secrets & Lies as an offering on a flight and leapt at the opportunity to watch a movie I’ve been wanting to see since 1996, when it was a Best Picture nominee. It was jarring to watch a movie that shot its actors so realistically-I can’t ever recall a...

So, during my recent flights I watched Sentimental Value, Bugonia, F1, Train Dreams and re-watched Sinners. I’ve seen One Battle After Another twice. Here are my rankings: OBAA Sinners Sentimental Value F1 Bugonia Train Dreams I will say, not a dog in the bunch, all were interesting in their...

All Things Immaculate Grid-related (MLB, NBA, NFL)

Grid awareness alert-Calvin Murray, Kyler’s uncle, played MLB for Giants, Rangers (of course), and Cubs. While he did nothing of note in his MLB career, he was a 1st round selection of both the Giants and Cleveland. (credit to Tommy Kramer’s Facebook account for this info)

Amazingly, the Glad Man was my only newbie yesterday, hard to believe I hadn’t used him already.

    Jett Feeney, Moorhead qb, commits

In the Mason era, wasn’t there 3-4 players from the Cincinnati area, which ended not very well-Alex Daniels was one of them and if memory serves, he was involved/ringleader of a sexual assault scandal? Edit: Yep, memory was correct, but it was Columbus, not Cincy...

All Things Immaculate Grid-related (MLB, NBA, NFL)

Peterson was a good buddy of Jim Bouton’s, and was mentioned often in Ball Four. As Bouton was regarded as a flake, it was interesting to read about their friendship, years before the wife swap. I remained convinced that I crossed paths with Peterson when I lived in Winona, despite no evidence...

All Things Immaculate Grid-related (MLB, NBA, NFL)

The last column of today’s grid garnered three newbie, Twins alums, Bernardo Brito, Lewis Thorpe, and JC Romero. I’m knocking on the door of 2200 players, two to go.

I hear you about the names-I have found grouping to work alright for my memory-I recently ran through many of the Perry’s-Gerald, Herbert, Pat, to join stalwart brothers Gaylord and Jim. Your mention of Doc Tonkin had me looking at Doc’s (a bit overwhelming, I must admit) and Tonkin-turns out...

This site paid off for me this week with the little known Alta Cohen, who I found out about while reading up on Babe Herman. https://peanutsandcrackerjack.com/blog/babe-herman-born-to-be-a-dh Btw, speaking of Babe’s-take a look at Adams, he’s a pretty useful pitcher for a few different categories.

Nice work on the all Twins-I was only able to fill four slots with my newbie being Cristian Guzman, which really surprised me, I figured I’d have used him in the first 500 or so. Thank you for the reminder on Morales, not sure if I have used him yet. Btw, Leo Cardenas from the late ‘60s Twins...

    All Things TV Series Recommendations/Reviews

Thank you for this rec-I would have never come across it if not for your mention. I mostly knew of the ABA through its zaniness (the book, Loose Balls by Terry Pluto is a great read) but the approach of this series and the quality of basketball played and talent developed was really well done...

I have a couple long flights coming up, hoping to be able to watch some of the nominees. I have only seen OBAA and Sinners thus far, and while I liked Sinners more than you, OBAA is definitely preferable for me-the others have quite a bar to clear to bump it from the lead.

    Cedric Tomes commits!!!

What I took away from this is that you’re stating Tomes will be the Gophers version of Shea Gilgeous-Alexander. Sold!

Thank you for this website notice, it looks to be a good site to dive into Grid research. Here's a few to share that have popped up for me recently: Podcasts (already mentioned) 1988 Topps Two Strike Noise Websites Greatest 21 Days (you have to sift through minor league players also, but...

All Things Immaculate Grid-related (MLB, NBA, NFL)

Your mention of Babe Herman made me go back in the Two Strike Noise archives to listen to the show devoted to him, he was quite a character. It is also where I learned that Rocky Colavito possesses a 0.00 lifetime ERA and his two pitching appearances were no joke-5.2 innings of 1 hit ball spread...

It took me some time to respond to this, as accessing Gopherhole on my phone has been funky as of late, but in regards to Edwards. . .things are getting eerie Ope. He was also my only new player on that particularly day of the Grid. Awhile ago, when I was doing a bit of a deep dive on All-Star...

I was in 6th grade when Class was released-the movie poster was ingrained in my mind as puberty hit, but I never watched the movie until last year. While I wouldn't put it among my favorites of the genre (perhaps because I watched it well after its release date and my teenage/college years), it...

All Things 2026 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

I thought I had it with legendary naughty name Rusty K. but turns out I had already used him. My Twins/Cleveland was unique-early era relief ace and Nimrod, MN’s pride, Dick Stigman. My other accomplishment today was vaulting Gary Gaetti into my big board (top 20); my goal is to have all Twins...
