I remember that pair also, wasn't the other Georgia TE almost 300 pounds?

New Executive Order on College Sports

It never bothered me. For years and years and years I'd watch all Saturday long, from when I got up until when I fell asleep. This new stuff that you refer to as "free agency" and "private contracts" is exactly the reason I stopped watching.

New Executive Order on College Sports

I wasn't trying to deny that - more to point out that, IMO, it's from the same pool of viewers as before. But @upnorthkid brought up a good point about people watching blowouts late since they now have a vested interest.

Oregon Dan Lanning: Koi is "football serious."

Any chance at all they could be realizing they made a mistake, like we did with the oline transfers last year?

New Executive Order on College Sports

How many betters weren't watching college football before? I honestly don't know, but for me personally, I haven't started watching a new sport just because I can now gamble on it. I think it's a mistake to risk losing your base of fans. The new ones might just run off once some other...

New Executive Order on College Sports

Nope, you're not alone. I have zero interest in any other teams' games now because I have no idea if the outcome will have any bearing on the CFP or not. I used to subscribe to something like Sling TV or YouTube TV etc and watch almost every game I could. Now I'll only watch the Gophers if...

All Things 2026 Gophers Spring Ball Thread (Tweets, Videos and More)

Grr, I feel bad that I only recognize Ko on the far right. Can someone else help out? Edit, ok it's not Ko is Nick Kallerup. And BSF is second from left.

All Things 2026 Gophers Spring Ball Thread (Tweets, Videos and More)

I agree. I got nothing out of the old spring games, even though it was fun in person sometimes. But even if someone looked good, it could just be the other player is bad kinda thing, so not much to glean imo.

The Athletic: Why the cost of college football roster building won’t slow down anytime soon

You are one of the last posters who I'd expect would be advocating for the ultra-wealthy to not share their money with others.

    Kenni Burns Suing Kent State

1-23 is definitely grounds for being fired, WITH BUYOUT. That's the difference. You make that promise, the coach (rightfully so) will hold you to it. If you wanna hire people and fire them without paying a large buyout, don't offer the buyout to begin with.

Thanks for pointing that out. At some point I wish politicians (both sides) would just admit that no one is superman and can do everything.

New Executive Order on College Sports

You're making some assumptions here. First, I said @stocker08 posed an interesting question. That doesn't mean I agree with his/her politics. Secondly, I said I thought Trump would be a president who would be in favor of less restriction on trade. That says nothing about whether I'm a...

Athletic: College football may be in danger

Yeah, but considering the poster I was responding to, I wanted to keep it as brief as possible. ;) I'd think even the average players would be against a CBA though too. If the star players are no longer getting the NIL money, they would eat up a larger portion of the rev sharing budget.

Executives are inching closer to agreement to expand NCAA tournament to 76 teams with a 12-game “opening round” played at two sites starting in 26-27

I don't know anybody who fills them out anymore. I remember doing them in grade school, high school, college, and the jobs I had previously. But now, I don't even know anyone who watches the games or talks about them anymore.

New Executive Order on College Sports

This is what confuses me too. If there ever was a president that I thought would be in favor of what's happening with players being able to cash in and make a bunch of money, it would be this guy. Trying my best not to be "too" political or take a side, but you posed an interesting question.

Athletic: College football may be in danger

Have you considered a lot of players would be giving up more in NIL than they would get with more revenue sharing? First, the current players have no way of knowing how much more TV revenue they would get with a new TV deal - so why would they give up their known millions in NIL for an unknown...

Oregon Dan Lanning: Koi is "football serious."

No, no, not at all. None whatsoever You also said more than that. Consider your phrase, "diamond in the rough" for one example. Our DBs are not diamonds in the rough that need polishing to play in the NFL anymore than other teams' DBs. Heck, the vikes drafted a safety from a CFP team and...

Oregon Dan Lanning: Koi is "football serious."

And it's very minor in the scheme of things. That's a different tone than before. You had said he could go there and not "feature" blah blah blah. I get it, you made a claim and your feet are dug in the mud and you'll just start talking in generalities going forward, so....

Oregon Dan Lanning: Koi is "football serious."

I especially don't believe the part about, "even if he doesn't feature while at Oregon" still being better than a 3-4 year starter at Minnesota in terms of draft prospects? I would think that going to Oregon and not "featuring" would hurt your draft prospects more than staying at MN would.
