Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby is checking into a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction.

My mistake, when I was reading I somehow took that to mean he made thousands of dollars, which doesn't really stand out to me, as that can sometimes be done in a few bets. Yes, thousands of bets does sound serious. Hope he can fix himself.

Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby is checking into a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction.

Back to the initial topic, does he really "need" treatment or is this just cover to help mitigate whatever punishment is coming? Kinda like the people who enroll in "treatment" after getting a DUI - it's really their lawyer telling them to do something that looks good. Maybe he does, and if so...

Kaliakmanis leads the nation in passing yards (1150).

Boy, I was sure wrong on that one. I had a lot more optimism looking at those guys/picks, but you two are right, a decent amount won't even make the roster for opening day. Thanks for tanking my interest in Day 3 of the draft lol. ;)

Kaliakmanis leads the nation in passing yards (1150).

I don't think that's how GM's draft, with the idea that they'll be cutting someone in a few months. The agents of the ones who don't get drafted spew that nonsense. No player out there would rather be UDFA as opposed to a 7th rounder. When was the last time a 7th rounder got cut before the...

Latest Dispute Over NIL Go Could End Any Semblance of a Salary Cap

I went to the U, got a Masters degree, and I'm confused as to what I just read. How the headline relates to the story, I just don't grasp.

We have a new commit....Will Clausen, Offensive Line

How is that political? Isn't kosher on like half of the pickle jars in grocery stores? I thought it was funny, never even considered politics.

We have a new commit....Will Clausen, Offensive Line

Here I thought he was from the same family as those 3 college QBs, two who went to Tennessee and the youngest to Notre Dame.

CBS: Big Ten bold predictions for 2026 (Minnesota: Gophers pull off a big upset)

He fixed it. It also now says 18 big ten teams instead of 16.

CBS: Big Ten bold predictions for 2026 (Minnesota: Gophers pull off a big upset)

Not sure this is a bold prediction - isn't this commonplace for Nebraska?

CBS: Big Ten bold predictions for 2026 (Minnesota: Gophers pull off a big upset)

There's actually 18 teams in the Big Ten. He says 16 then goes on to make predictions for 17! The beauty is the one team he left off is...Wisconsin! ;)

The Athletic: Why the cost of college football roster building won’t slow down anytime soon

I think he's saying "yes, but not directly". There is a slight difference between you funding the employer who then funds the employee, vs you funding the employee via a side relationship.

New Executive Order on College Sports

Won't the courts strike it down if the players aren't involved? I mean, the schools and the NCAA did have an agreement about punishing players who accepted cash/violated their "amateur" status, etc - then the Supreme Court struck it down, right? Reggie Bush comes to mind as someone who...

The Athletic: Why the cost of college football roster building won’t slow down anytime soon

And that one loss was to an unranked team in the final game of the season. Not exactly a great way to try and convince people you deserve to play for the NC.

Yeah, people eventually stopped buying pet rocks for the same reason.

New Executive Order on College Sports

I understood that part. I was just pointing out that, for example, I bet on college football - but it wouldn't be fair to say that I'm part of the increase in viewership as a "bettor", because I was watching long before I could bet. I think a good majority of those betting had been watching...

New Executive Order on College Sports

I assume this is to why the "new" stuff drove me off, and not the previous comment on coaching/AD salaries. Well, I think the things that interested me about it are not what interest you about college football. I loved an opening weekend where you might have Miami/FSU, etc. and the loser was...
