It's funny either way. You loose yardage from your passing stats even though you didn't throw a pass on the play. Like, you could complete one pass for 10 yards, then get sacked a bunch and have a stat line of negative yards even though your only attempted pass was completed for 10 yards...

What I think the answer is, and they (highwayman, minnyrules) won't admit to, is that they were unaware that DE's can actually rush the passer from the interior when moved there on 3rd and long. I think those two posters thought we'd be turning him into a DT in that situation, but it just isn't...

Not at all ridiculous. DE's move inside all the time on obvious passing downs like 3rd and long. So someone smaller than him? Usually you'd move the bigger DE inside and have the lighter DE stay outside.

Yeah, I think it happens when you have bigger defensive ends. I'm sure there are lots more recent examples, but Everson Griffen sliding inside for the vikes comes to mind. I believe I've seen it a lot, just can't get the names in my head.

I doubt it, that would be a ton of work to do for each team, and almost impossible since you'd have to have like our knowledge level of the Gophers, but for all the B1G teams.

Good point that I didn't consider. However, if the games would be broadcast on different networks, I'd think each network would want exclusivity. If it was something like one game is on espn and the other is on abc, I'm not sure they would pay all that money to compete with themselves.

Yeah, and were people "excited" about Tulane? If that happens year in and year out, will people look forward to watching? That is a true statement. We can also try to mitigate how often we see them though; once every 20 or so years is tolerable.
