2025 Minnesota High School Football Thread

I do not care for the MSHSL’s decisions many times. In football an opt down team went to the state semis then they basically stopped allowing it in football. So if Minneapolis wins the single A title, they’ll probably stop letting teams opt down

2025 Minnesota High School Football Thread

I think that outside of football appeals down are much more common and much more likely to be accepted. Minneapolis South is 4a football. Minneapolis south is 3a hoops. Probably 2a hockey with an opt down that was accepted. Tartan is 5a football 4a hoops. Tartan probably 2a hockey but opts...

Matt Ruhle said the loud stadiums at Minnesota and Colorado to start last season basically took him a bit by surprise.

a 6-6 Baylor team is probably about the 4-5th most intense game at those 3 stadiums that year. But yes. He was talking about road environments so those two neutral don’t really mean much to the conversation. You don’t have to defend Baylor. I’m just saying he hasn’t played very many big...

They can be. Rhule brought an 0-5 team to T Boone Pickens stadium and lost by 40. Guessing it wasn’t that loud Brought a 3-3 team to Morgantown and lost 58-14 guessing it was loud for about a quarter until the game was over Won by 18 at OK state his third year. Ok state was 4-2 Probably the...

    Targeting Rule Change

the problem with targeting is that it’s really a rule that if there isn’t clear and obvious they should text me the video and I’ll tell them whether or not it was. The purpose of the rule is to take away dangerous cheap shots. And we get into the weeds on plays that simply aren’t cheap shots...

RandBall discusses Coyle model "He would rather make a decision a year too early than a year too late" writes "How has Fleck survived in this model?"

I am the guy who started a thread who said fleck needs an up year soon. But if you think fleck is bad you are literally an idiot

I am sure USB has protocols in place But when you have to have protocols it means you have a design that requires humans making choices to prevent disasters in certain circumstances I love USB from the seats. It’s a mediocre set of entry and exit and concourses though

Agree with everything you said here There are parts of US bank stadium where I genuinely worry there will be someone who dies from a crush at some points (top of the escalator landing waiting to go up the next escalator) If the electric ever went out on top escalator and not the bottom...

You definitely can start a club team and play other club teams. This is how sports like boys volleyball got started But there won’t be much athletic support for this within the building. Especially if there are facilities limitations. But all kinds of kids who don’t make varsity continue to...

On what planet has he not raised the ceiling of the program? He has the only top 10 finish of the last 50 years. He has HALF of the winning conference seasons since 1974 He hasn’t raised it as much as some have liked, but he certainly raised it.

Which college football blue bloods are actually still blue bloods in 2026?

They’re for sure one of the best non blue bloods. But if you’ve won a national title post 2000 you’re ahead of Oregon
