I think for those that stick around that may be true
But there are also many who would simply stop following in the lean years.
I pick Illinois because they’ve been awful but had a big ten title in 2000 and a rose bowl in a 9-3 season in the middle of the awful
Yes but you also have to consider that all the rankings would be different with different playoff sizes too.
The committee does thinks arbitrarily at the bottom of the rankings to fit how they want the top to go.
Not saying gophers would have more, but saying the committee would be the same...
Correct.
It’s all schedule, but this team has been solidly 30-50 range but the schedule has broken that the losses are early enough to not become over ranked.
2023 was the exception where they were not even close.
So would everyone.
I think a better question is would you trade one up year for fewer overall wins.
7-2, 3-6, 2-7 vs 5-4, 5-4, 5-4
If that’s the order, people take the first but also fire the first coach
2300 yards 18 touchdowns and 6 interceptions
I believe only 6 QBs in college football had 2000+, 15+, and 9 or less
Two of them are Drake Lindsey and arch manning
I do not think he is a first round draft pick but there are reasons to be pleased with him.
Nearly impossible to get to that level
2005-2019 10 10 win seasons in 15 years
2004-2019 15 8 win seasons in 16 years
For context, if you go 2019 and earlier the gophers need to go back to 1905 to have 15 8 win seasons.
The gophers have 6 10 win seasons in school history
All these expansion of the playoffs miss the number one issue
The arbitrary nature of the committee
I’m fine at 4, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 24
Until you go to a formula it’s not going to solve the stupidity of the committee
