They have 4 WRs total returning from last year’s team. Of those 4, only two saw PT last season and the other 2 are redshirt freshmen. They needed to fill out the depth chart with players that had some experience. Hence, the additions of Jennings and Steptoe who are likely to be WR4/5. Smith...

He probably didn’t cost a lot but WR4/5 (or in my opinion WR in general) isn’t a place to spend a lot of money.

I’ve seen speculation that the service that announced it did so in error. Apparently, all of Jennings socials still list MN.

Not really. The higher rated offensive transfer (I.e. Warren and Thompson) are more potential while the defense recruits are players productive at lower levels and seem to be smart moves. This makes those higher rated offensive players at a greater risk to underperform.

Agreed. LB should be a position filled through HS recruiting. No need to overpay there.

This guy seems to be a good pass rusher at 6’4” 300 lbs at the very least.

He’s rather highly rated in the portal by at least 1 service and had teams like Penn State after him. He also had 22 QB pressures and 18 hurries.

As others have mentioned, those stats are not the greatest indicator of the impact of a DT.

I can agree on the offense. However, that could change with 1 good productive OL transfer.

I’d say that there’s quite a few guys that had good production at lower levels. I’m honestly more concerned about the higher rated guys. As they didn’t really contribute at their last P4 stops.

Which players don’t you like? Additionally, I think it far more likely that the “top handful of transfers” will underperform. The Gophers seem to have been rather smart in the portal.
